Two games have made me cry. Kingdom Hearts 1 and Kingdom Hearts 2. The first one with tears of sadness in the end. And the second tears of joy at the end.

Why the hell are so many people putting Final Fantasy games as something they cried over?

Even if the story is nice (which it isn't go watch review on http://spoonyexperiment.com/) I find it a little hard to invest in the story when the gameplay is so dull and repetitive. I can maybe see someone being sad, but actually breaking down and crying is just unfathomable.
Yeah. How dare people have different opinions and emotional triggers than you.
when goofy..."died" I almost cryed and got sooo mad i went into a rage and killed every one of them sob's i saw

Tales of Symphonia is the only game to have made me cry. It was towards the end, when... stuff happens. Then later on it made me cry again, except this time they were tears of joy.

Im gonna see if I can get these in order of when I played them:
Ico: One of the greatest stories told through a game ever.
Shadow of The Colossus: The end.
Fallout 1: Ron Perlman = best narrator ever.
Fallout 2:" "
KotOR: Yeah.
Bioshock: All 3 endings, especially the good ending.
Mass Effect: Virmire, Saren, and more.
Mother 3: yes.
Fallout 3: Ron Perlman, Environment is totally depressing too.
Oblivion. I dont know why, but walking around generally makes me tear all up.
Mass Effect 2. Many times. Jack paragon romance, Tali loyalty, Tali romance, Thane romance, endgame, beginning, LotSB, Overlord, and more.
Mirrors Edge: Still Alive = Awesome apparently sad song.
Braid: I think its the music, but it turns on the waterworks.

I know I am missing some, but thats a pretty good list. I guess I cry alot.

Red Dead Redemption made me cry twice. I couldn't handle it the first time so I turned it off, then about three weeks later put on my big girl panties and got through it. I was so emotionally involved in the story.

Enslaved, Pigsy.

The chicken in the opening cinematic of Fable 3. I may have been laughed at for it, but I was more interested in the fate of that chicken than I was the general populace of Albion. ;o;

Mass Effect 1 & 2 frequently make me choke up, Mass Effect 1 mostly for pure nostalgia (Vigil's Theme gets me every time). The closest I ever came to full out crying though, was the last repressed/"Christina" memories in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. They were a very small part of the game, but are perfectly done, and the end is emotionally devastating. I felt so incredibly bad for Ezio, and I think he became my favorite video game character ever after that moment.

Most of the Final Fantasy games has made me cry, they usually have such sad endings... Also RDR, it was so sad ;<

When I first read the topic I couldn't think of any, but I knew deep down that some had to make me cry, mostly 'cause I cry easly xP
So I can't come up with a solid list or anything.

EDIT: OH!! I just read some above posts, and definitivley FF Crisis Core ending, I knew it was going to happen and still, it was so sad

Professor Layton and the Unwound Future made me tear up a bit. That is the closest to full out crying I have ever came from a video game.

Silent Hill 2. I'm not a 'crying' type of person, especially when it comes to media like books, films, games, etc. SH2 was the first thing I cried at, and badly. Jesus, it was like I couldn't stop.

First, I a few tears rolled down my cheek when Maria is impaled, and James just collapses in the hospital elevator and the music starts playing. Then I cried when it was revealed he'd killed Mary after watching the tape. Then I cried a little when Maria was impaled again during the hotel battle. Then I cried a lot when I got the In Water ending where he commits suicide; at this point, my tears were crying. Then I cried again during the credits, I think just for the hell of it.

And the thing is, I had to read crap like 'P.S. I Love You' and 'The Notebook' for an old book club, which made everybody else bawl their eyes out, and I was like, 'HA, I laughed throughout. In the bad way.' That the first thing to make me cry was a horror game? I don't know whether that says more about me or SH2.

When you kill mission and zalbaar in KoTOR
YOU ARE A BAD MAN, A EVIL, EVIL, BAD MAN.

Uhm plenty of times if the story is sad enough I will and If I grow attached to the characters I will get upset.

Mass Effect 2

Operation Overlord hit me like a brick to the face; in fact had I not been so emotionally overwhelmed, I'd have done the paragon interrupt to pistol whip that scientist.

but I got tears of joy too. I did a full paragon run with a ME1 import that romanced Liara. I did Lair of the Shadow Broker, successfully rekindled my romance (YAY) and then I went and blew up the collector base, and got everyone home safely again. Tears of joy were shed.

Sure I've cried because of a game. More than once, in fact.

Halo: Reach
The death of Jorge hit me pretty hard, as he was my favorite member of Noble Team. Perhaps it's because he's the only Spartan-II of the bunch. Having read the books, I'm intimately familiar with how they were trained, the hardships they had to endure, etc. Because of this I found Jorge to be a reassuring presence. He was like having an old friend around that would watch your back. His death was made all the more tragic when you consider that literally seconds after he died in an act that he believed would save the planet, the main Covenant fleet arrives anyway, making his heroic sacrifice seem meaningless

Also, the mission "Lone Wolf." I don't think I need to explain why.

Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30
The deaths of Allen and Garnett, two of the most entertaining and likable squad members. When things got tough, you could always count on them to lighten the mood with a joke or two. The squad briefly splits up for a mission, and next thing you know you hear the frantic screaming of Leggit. You round the corner to find Allen and Garnett's sprawled corpses, each one with a bullet in the head. This shakes up the entire squad, Baker probably most of all as indicated by his recollection of the event:

Things never feel quite the same afterwards. It's like the heart and soul of the squad was ripped away with their deaths. Eventually it turns out Allen and Garnett was just a prelude, as nearly half the squad is killed off by the end of the game.

Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
Talk about a bittersweet ending. Ganon is defeated, maybe even for good this time, but Hyrule is irrevocably lost beneath the waves. Also, Link decides after rescuing his sister to leave his home island, prompting an emotional farewell.

Close to when i thought Joker died in the Normandy (when you control him, i accidentally walked into a death scene and thought that it was the conclusion to the ship being boarded), he is easily the greatest character ever in a game. ever.

And Chopper's death in ace combat 5 made me choke up a bit.

Nope. But if there was a game that came close, it would have been Silent Hill 2. If you've played it, you know how fucked things get towards the end.
