Well, today is a first for me. Just got the Red Ring of Death on my Xbox 360 for the first time. Hooray! I probably should be more pissed than I am, but I've had it for like 3-4 years so I feel sort of lucky I guess. Besides, I recently sold alot of my games for it, and I'm really not looking forward to any more 360 only games for awhile.

So what has happened to you? Were you pissed, annoyed, or slightly inconvenienced

Yes, my last 6 Xbox 360s. Excuse me while I got Microsoft's headquarters on fire.

Yes, both my PS3 and Xbox 360 died on the same day. It was a sad day. Xbox 360 had the red rings for some reason, and our PS3 just stopped working. But we had a warranty on both, Microsoft just had us bring our console to Best Buy and pickup a new 360, and switch out the hard drive. Sony tried and failed to fix our PS3 so we had to get a new one. Bye all my save data for two years.

Back in 2007 I had the 360 die on me twice. The like-new one I got at the end of the year survived but then I just sold it.

Since then I have never had a console die on me.

The only console I've had that finally went tits up was my Super Nintendo. It took 18 years, but the piece of metal on the AC connector fell off. I could still play it by plugging the AC adapter in and wiggling it around to where the two metal prongs sticking out would connect, but eventually that stopped working. Still, thinking about how many times that thing got knocked around, or accidentally dropped down the stairs, I would say 18 years is a pretty good run. Older consoles were built very well, my NES from 1989 still works, even though I lost the original AC adapter and I'm now using an AC adapter from a remote control car charger. My Genesis, N64, Gamecube, PS1 and 2, and 360 are still working very well.

My NES has been on shaky legs lately.
Yes, this is a legitimate concern for me. The thing is older than I am, somewhat obviously, and I've always wanted to see if it'd make it to its thirtieth anniversary.

My first 360 had freezing problems (we're talking every ten minutes, if I was lucky) with almost all games, but the piece of shit wouldn't red ring, so I couldn't send it in for repairs without paying a hundred bucks to Microsoft. No thanks.
A friend of mine later sold me his 360, a much later version, something like two or three years ago. It still works to this day, so I lucked out too.

I don't play it anymore. >:I

My first 360 died. To be fair, it did survive two year long deployments to the middle east so it had a fairly tough life. My PS2, which I purchased in 2002, held up for the same deployments and still works. The CD tray is a bit cantankerous though.

My Wii broke after two years. To be fair it suffered a severe case of gravity at the hands of my friends stupidity.

I will never forget it...

June 2008... I just got my copy of the limited edition MGS4 via UPS, I can barely contain myself, I got home, plug my PS3, play for about two hours, and then, in the middle of Meryl's first appareance cutscene, the console stops readind discs... just like that... I had to buy a new one, btw...

I have a PS1, PS2, PS3, Sega Megadrive and a Wii. None have these have ever failed, and I have had each since they came out, except the PS3, which I have had for almost 3 years.

Edit: I also had a 360, but I got bored of it and sold it for almost the full price I paid for it.

You've gone through 6 of them?, holy shit, either you've got incredibly bad luck or you don't look after your gear, you need to try to keep those things away from other sources of heat. Although saying that everyone I know went through about 3 to 6 PS2's during its lifetime, I think thats why it sold so well, cheap DVD console combo and people had so many games they were "locked in" to buying another one.

I've Broken a Sega Master System, seriously, that wasn't mine so that pissed my friends off no end.

My Xbox360 power brick bricked itself, it was midly bothersome because I was going to trade it in for a PS3 at the time, I didn't enjoy my time with the 360.
