They do it all the time - I don't see how this will be any different.

They're based in America right? From what I've come to understand people sue each other all the time over there, so how come Fox News is able to lie without any consequences?
Because they're rich as fuck, and there's no way in hell you'd win.

nothing will change until every fuck up is reported to the FCC or whoever it is in america that is responsible for holding broadcasters responsible, if you really hate what they do and you live in america, report it and let them know that you aren't gonna take it, worst comes to worst nothing happens, best result they get sued for slander :D

The only thing that'll change is that their non-fans will be even more non-fans. At best they lose a few neutrals.

But, so help us if they find a copy of the game in even ONE rapist's house, even if he's been raping years before the system it's on was even thought of. The Fox fan club might hunt us down like witches.

And despite this Fox is still 100 times better than anything in the NBC family which is "news" in the loosest sense of the word

Fox does stuff like all the time. And not just them (though they are the most popular trolls), all the Major Networks will over-react to something and make stuff up to get more viewers

The author they brought on for this debate actually apologized afterwards.

No, people, Fox News isn't shooting themselves in the foot, because they don't have a leg to stand on.

You can't shoot yourself in the foot when you've just been wobbling back-and-forth on your pelvis ever since the end of the Clinton era.

Well, yes, but Fox is like a gigapede. It shoots itself in the foot daily, but it always seems to have more feet.
I have to respectfully disagree with you - Fox is like a human. However, it's too idiotic to hit its own foot with a firearm from point blank range. After attempting to shoot itself in the foot, it tries to play connect the dots with the misses and, thus, provides its own evidence why it isn't humans that are the problem, it's the tools they make that are the problem

strangest thing is... people still believe they are the only unbiased and reliable source of news left in the world. Not even joking here, i'm surrounded by hyper-conservatives.

Fox News is trash TV. Jerry Springer is also trash TV and look how popular that used to be.

I think that eventually the retardation of this bullshit "news" group will fade away just like Jerry Springer, but until then.. we Americans have some rough times ahead

As long as their target audience are more interested in being horrified and being told that they have no part in any of the world's problems, Fox will live on. I fear this will go on for a very, very long time before their target demographic opts to grow a pair and accept the world for what it is.

Nope, they've been doing just that for years and their viewers don't seem to mind one bit.

With the whole Bulletstorm makes rapists bullshit that Fox News have put out have they essentially ruined themselves. With the entire article people have discovered errors, inconsistencies and even selective quoting proving they make their own news and if Fox'll lie about a game how much else is shit.
My view is that, like they said, they believed games to by just for kids and didn't realise games have actually grown and become a medium for any age, I qoute another article that says the average gamer is 20-30 and a lot more vocal than Fox realised.
So what do you all think, is this another nail in the coffin or will it blow over onto the next piece of crap story?
You forget about the mass effect stuff a few years back? Didn't ruin them. They have people on the network that have called the President a rasist and, it didn't ruin them. (IMO something that prolly generate alot more heat then critizing a videogame.) They have there market dimagraphic locked up. And it's not the same demegraphic that you find here. So, no, they didn't shot themselves in the foot. At all. The people who watch it, will prolly agree, and move on.

People who don't agree, will do what they always do... *THIS*, for the most part. Get worked up on an internet message board, decry the evil Fox News corp, and go back to watching whatever flavor of news they agree with. And life goes on. *shrug*

Way of our modern world.

Because they're rich as fuck, and there's no way in hell you'd win.

Actually since most of their shows (Beck, O'Riley, Hannity) are classified as "Opinion" shows, there are no ground to be able to sue them.

Guys you all really need to stop the fox demonizing especially for something they didn't do. Fox News didn't come out and say videogames cause rape... they had a freaking panel on with opposing viewpoints about bulletstorm.

I bet some of their stuff could be counted as slander though - even if it's an opinion segment, outright lies of basic facts aren't justified.
