Guys you all really need to stop the fox demonizing especially for something they didn't do. Fox News didn't come out and say videogames cause rape... they had a freaking panel on with opposing viewpoints about bulletstorm.

Would you like to know what the panelists really said?

This is Fox news we are talking about here, the daddy of all libel, slander, and BS when it comes to American "news" television. This is just another episode of them bringing a so called "expert" out to appeal to their overly conservative right wing audience in an attempt to justify their audiences fears. Fox isn't going to think twice about their next piece on gaming, unless we look at it as this was the most coverage that they have got it a while and try to replicate it. This is not to say that we shouldn't try and argue with them over the issue they are trying to raise, but rather not be surprised when something so baseless and crass as this comes from their collective droning.

P.S. The Amazon Bomb comments were a great read, probably the most fun of this whole ordeal.

If they don't shoot themselves (in the foot), I'll gladly do it for them.
THIS IS A JOKE.

Not more that usual,FOX tends to do these things a lot,yet they still seem to stand with feel full of holes.

I'd like to say yes, but considering their primary consumers are soccer moms and people over 50 I'd say they've hit a home run with this controversy. Cause that demographic is facepalm'ing at youth of today...while we facepalm at how ridiculous they seem.

It's funny how easily it's forgotten that they had to have the same arguments with their parents about the evils of Elvis's hips!

I wish... I think you overestimate the intelligence of their average viewer. Facts aren't something they tend to be interested in.

FOX must have a foot disperser in their office, they make themselves look like morons every other day, unfortunately they never seem to be slowed down by their stupidity.

That Fox is full of bullshit is unquestionable, but they're too big and wide-spread to be put down from something like poor journalism.

They could shoot themselves in the HEAD by yelling "9/11 was the best day ever" on national television and in a few months it would be like nothing had happened at all.

S'just the way things are in today's media. It's also generally why I don't follow the news much- everyone slanting like crazy and pretending they're not, caring more about audience pandering than the news they should be objective about...

Faux Noise is popular because they tailor their bullshit to cater to peoples' fears and biases. Society will never rise above hating other people for their level of melanin, or for what they have, or any of the other "reasons" people have to disparage everyone else, so Faux will always have an audience.

Also, there will always be stupid people. I live with a perfect example of a Faux Noise addicted TeaBagger, so I have ample stories if anyone needs any. Suffice it to say...What kind of intelligent person believes that one could tell how Obama will act as president based on what kind of mustard he likes on his burgers? Beck claimed to, and you see how people jack off to him.

Um...They do stuff like this every single day. It's what they do. The sad thing is a lot of americans don't notice.
Or is why they watch.

Just think of Fox News as the professional Republican troll, like how umm... either CNN or MSNBC is for democrats/liberals.

Hate to say it, but TRR has it right. They did the exact same thing a couple of years ago with the whole "Sexbox" article about Mass Effect; inconsistencies, factual errors, outright lies, hypocrisy...the works. It's nothing new for those bottom-feeders.

They notice. Some just don't care. If you're a liberal you watch CNN or MSNBC (The latter isn't so bad imo), if you're conservative you watch Fox News.

Nothing really beyond that.

You have to remember that the age demographic of Fox News is the highest of any channel on TV. Bar none. Since the olds don't understand video games, they rip on it.

What I don't get are the few younger people that defend Fox News to the death, despite disagreeing with pretty much everything they say.

Oh, Fox has shot itself in the foot so many times that it no longer has legs. Anyone who watches the Daily Show or The Colbert Report knows that.
Sadly, we need Fox to shoot itself in the head for them to ever truly go away. And since that will never happen...moving on.

Well, one could hope so, since it's so obviously overblown to apply phrases to it that would be more fitting for Rapelay, and that even only when assuming they had any academically sound data to back them up.

For those who like overblown though, or live in a world where unfamiliar = scary = most evil thing ever!, it's just water on a mill spinning ever faster out of control.

Doubt there are many moderate viewers to scare off. And I'd suppose even the conservative intelligentsia too would've dumped FOX news already by now. Stuff like this is probably what those who remain come for in the first place, "news" that correspond to their world view.

Fox does shit like this every day. Yes, they have shot their feet and a few other people's feet in the process, but they'll keep up with it.

They've got plenty of gun wounds in their feet, and they will continue to add them. As long as they are speaking to an ignorant, fearful society in regards to video games, it will never be fatal.
