Poll: Have you ever carried a weapon for self defense ?

It's always for me because it's just a habit. I put on pants every day without thinking about it and it isn't because I'm paranoid about people seeing my Superman boxer shorts. I don't even think about it, I put on pants, shirt, IWB holster, SpringfieldXD, slip the knife sheath for the SEAL knife on my belt under my shirt, hand the HideAway knife around my neck then head out the door.

As I said above, which is the philosophy held by the vast majority of martialists, it isn't because we go out afraid of the world or expecting trouble, it's there in the off-chance something may happen. The folks at VA-Tech would have loved to have me in their class when that nutjob burst in, they thought it could never happen to them, but it did.

1 in a million still has a 1 in it. I'm ready for the 1 but know that the other 999,999 is what will most likely happen.

I'm with him on the don't think about it anymore. I am a red blooded martialist and carry 6 knives, 4 of the throwing variety and (when I can get away with it, my CHL still being "in process"... damn them!) my Colt 45. Say what you want about that gun, I thoroughly love it.

As a simple BTW note, Target, you and I would get along admirably.

Though I say a few times because of what I can consider a self defence weapon. If it came down to it, I could probably defend myself with a water bottle. But yes, I do have several self-defence weapons.

I don't carry my revolver, chances are if I did I'd get searched for being suspicious -_- But I do carry a decent little blade tucked away at all times.

I only carry my steel-toed boots for self-defense purposes.
That's more than enough for cops in some Southern states to charge you with possession of a deadly weapon!

I carry a knife everywhere I can, both for safety and convenience.

I carry two knives on me at all times and sleep with one of them under my pillow. Both of them are CRKT M1 knives. One is a straight edge and the other is half a straight edge and half serrated.

I don't carry any weapons, or really anything that could be used as a weapon. A lot of women I know have pepper-spray-on-a-keychain... Which seems to me like it would only be useful if you happened to have your keys in your hand.
