Hooray for sanity?
I have to question how many people are actually being serious with this thread, 'cos I'm a skeptical bastard like that.

Oh, and if you are, seek help you nutjobs :p

I've done this. Once I went to an art gallery with allot of landscape works, and when I saw one where a road was stretching straight out with a horse and rider in the distance, I thought it was Phantom Ganon from Zelda:OoT, and freaked, looking desperately to my right and left for a copy of the painting to see which one he'd come out of. I was in full-on Navy Seals mode when I realized someone was offering me cocktail shrimp and I settled down.

Never while conscious, but I've had some bizarre dreams that could pertain to reality or a game. Most vivid one to me ATM is one where I would be fighting an ugly demon boss thing and barely win, at which point it would hulk out and take on another form even uglier and tougher to beat. Repeat several times until I wake up.

This is either a metaphor for problems in life that get worse the more you fight them, or I'd been playing too many JRPGs that day.

I was once riding my bike, heard a car down the road, and tried to find the "Switch camera to rear view" button on my keyboard.

Sort of counts: I was in the grocery store once, going up and down the aisles looking for some obscure thing, and my "Ctrl-F" fingers kept twitching.

My friend and I played a two-day Halo marathon this past weekend, and whenever I closed my eyes to go to sleep I saw in the upper right of my vision, "Hold RB to swap for" and a picture of the Battle Rifle.

After playing Half-Life 2 all day, I kept trying to turn on a flashlight I didn't have when it got dark in my house.

When I was driving home from work at night, I kept expecting a mini-map to be present on my windshield somewhere. (Cuz I couldn't find the turn-off in the dark)

I remember an instance from long ago ('94 or so): I had been playing DOOM for a long while when I walked into a new room and heard a Baron of Hell scream. My first reaction was to turn around in my chair and look behind me in real life. Perhaps not so spectacular, but I thought it was very funny at the time.

I haven't. My friend looked outside once on a foggy day and said "Someone really needs to turn the draw distance up." I have never wanted to smack him in the head so hard as that day.
I saw the roof of a house once and my first thought was 'I need to turn the AA up a bit'.

I had been playing TF2 for a while, and thought (in a mall or something) 'I should spycheck'...

I work part time at a vets, and on a sunday emergancy service it can get very quiet.
so one sunday i was all by myself in reception, so i started playing a game on my phone when i swear i heard the gurgling of a boomer (left4dead) so i dropped my phone and instantly looked for the boomer + something to kill it.. took me 5 seconds to get back to reality. But i was still on edge.

A minute later i hear the noise and look down the back to see where it's coming from turned out to be a vet burping. i felt so embarresed.

Yep, one morning after a C&C Red Alert 2 marathon with a couple friends at the local game shop. I woke up (on the floor) and noticed some figurines from a board game standing atop a few psp game cases and thought "good, they're on the high ground; they'll have longer range weapons... wait what?!"

I was walking down the stairs when i saw someones back turned to me. First reaction, backstab (thank god i didnt do that).
The time rewind/speed up things seem quite common,i always catch myself tapping for the tab key when in class.

Oh yeah, this is a good one. A couple of years ago I was really into the multiplayer on Splinter Cell: Double Agent. When you play as a spy, you have this device on your arm that can disable lights. So in real life, I walked into a room and without thinking about it I looked up at the light on the ceiling and raised my arm towards it. I was stood like that for a few seconds before I thought "What the hell am I doing?" and laughed out loud.

I just remembered another one too. I played Crackdown quite a lot when it came out and I kept thinking I could hear the sound that the agility orbs make everywhere I went. I'd even check the roofs of buildings occasionally while I was walking down the street. Those were the days.

Sometimes when I accidentally break something, I'm hoping there is a quickload bottom, but there rarely is, sadly.
I want to know where you get this quick load for life.

I was a CS obsessive when I was in highschool, I woke up one morning and thought I had crosshairs in the middle of my field of vision.
