For some reason, I tend to look upon users with Anime avatars less favourably. Personal discretion, I guess.
Likewise, I guess cause I have no idea what their avatar is supposed to be. I just see generic dude in fighting pose. or crazy costume on generic dude , or just close up of generic dudes face. Not very memorable.

When I see a anon or /b/ meme (Save for lolcat and unmotivationals) I immediately think "Troll" or "/B/tard"

This I also have to agree to except.. when I see anime characters, I see fanboy, immature, uncreative, or japanophile...

I could create some personal attacks, but instead I think I'll settle for a "Yes."

Perhaps it's not judging by, but remembering people by, and I see "Oh, it's THAT guy with the flaming crucifix, let's look at his recent posts...Oh look, 2 atheism threads..."

Sometimes, yeah. I mean, your avatar is the face your want to represent to everyone else. So unless it's supposed to be a joke (which says something about you itself), then I might make an assumption about you (of course, I could always end up being horribly, horribly, wrong).

Nah. Sometimes an avatar is just an avatar. Sometimes there's a connection to a deeper meaning with the person behind the profile; and sometimes, its just a cool looking pic.

I do judge people by avatars, I must admit. I should really stop it though, if someone were to think I was in any way like Mr. Incredible, you'd be very dissapointed.
I have a habit of liking people with funny avatars though.

I was about to answer no but then I remembered so guy on here with an anti obama icon thing on here and I pretty much instantly judged him to be a prick...
This.

Also, there was this other guy with a stylized Nazi eagle as his avatar. That got me suspicious.
Reading his posts, it turned out he was very pro-fascism, so, yeah, I judged and I judged correctly.

The only real thing we see here is a small grouping of pixels below our name. I know I've tried to make a judgment on someones character solely based on their avatar.

What about you guys?

If so, what do you think the person above you is like based on their avatar?
No, but I've been judged by some retard on here who doubted my vast knowledge of videogames JUST because I didn't hate sonic unleashed, like everybody else I know.
I flamed him for his ignorance and was suspended in the process. Wish I could remember which escapist it was, but I've forgotten.

That to, mainly the japanophile and fanboy part. I never understood the level of attachment to a cartoon.

I judge, all the time, they say a picture is worth a thousand words, I could go on and on about the deeper meanings of my cat thing but I don't need to bore you with that
