you would be surprised at how quickly thumping someone on the head ends a fight. i am 3.5 inches shorter and that is enough leverage to knock someone flat with little effort, not to say i would do that as they might get hurt... worse than they need to be.

OT: if you know how to fight, martially, then no it is not it presents it own unique bonuses and penalties, there are things that are more effective for and against you and less effective for and against you. At least it always seems to come down to looking like you would be better, or worse in a fight than anything.
It's just helps ending a fight before it starts. Most people suddenly loose interest in being unfriendly when they find themselves half a head shorter than they think they are.

Research showed if you're over 6ft, the probability that you'll need a cane by your mid to late 30s exceptionally rises.
You laugh at us now, but when i've got a canesword and you've got nothing, i'll be the one laughing.

I don't really give a crap about height. I'm not quite 6ft 2.....probably around 6ft 1 1/2 but I never bring up the half or round up. Perhaps it's because I have no desire to attempt to sound more awesome than I actually am.

Yes.

I was small and skinny my whole life, resulting in constant abuse all the way until I hit college. Even today I still take shit from people that I know I wouldn't if I was about 4 or 5 inches taller. I'm about 5'10" 155 now, but I was young for my class and very thin boned, so being much smaller and weaker I was an easy target.

It was a challenge, but you learn to use what God has given you. Also, martial arts go a long way in overcoming the "I'm too small to matter" self-defeating complex. In my case I really didn't learn how to defend myself and stand tall until my mid-twenties, but...that's life.

Very. But then again I play basketball so it probably means more to me than the "average joe".
same for me. It's way more fun to be taller rather than shorter.
Even though i'm only 6'4", which translates to "average" on the court.

I don't care about height, and don't understand people who do.
My brother claims to be 182cm tall. Somewhat recently I measured my own height (I'm younger) and found that I am 182cm. I am definitely a little taller than him, who I doubt is more than 179/180cm. I wonder why he adds those extra centimetres when he surely must know that he doesn't have them.

Why not use a gun like a normal person? They aren't too hard to acquire...

The opposite sex might say it doesn't, but it does.

Oh, you mean how tall you are as a person? I dunno, probably not. I'm 6'3".

Answer: Cane-gun. They do make 'em already, though they are technically completely illegal. Then again, you're a frail old man to them, so they should let you off easier.

I'm between 5'9"-5'10". Not exactly "short" but still... well... yeah, ok, I'm kinda short. Really couldn't care less though. In fact it's cool.

Tallness is a trait of the crony. Shortness is for leaders.

Because i'm in the UK?

Aside from that, caneswords are freaking cool.

Height is not a problem unless you are a very short or very tall (well maybe it can be a problem)

Is height really that much of a big deal that we tend to overestimate it or even exagerate it?
No, Hell, you get a little taller and lose a little height all the time (If what I read or heard was correct). In some people, i'd just assume it's a bit more of a change. Either that, or people just aren't used to you wearing shoes (hell, i had that one happen to me recently ><)

Hmmm... Need to get me one of those... And yes, they're freakin cool. Also, I figure they're much easier to hide. Who's gonna suspect your cane (which you do need for walking purposes) has a blade in it? If properly disguised that is

Any taller than 6'2 starts to be too tall; like tall enough for to look at a guy and see that as his only defining feature.

My height of 5'10 is dandy enough though :)
