Does anyone fully agree with Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw's views on games? I do, but I hear a lot about fanboys complaining.

Sometimes.

Mostly when I hate a game. I do believe he is brutally honest most of, if not all the time, but I don't agree with him all that much.

His view on games is a bit extreme in most cases.

Fully? Every single point?

I don't. I agree that sometimes he brings up good point, but the things he brings up he often exaggerates and they are never game breaking.

He often makes some fair points and good observations, but he can be a bit nitpicky. Most of his problems with certain games are easily overlooked when you actually play the game.

As with every Yahtzee-related thread:

He is not a reviewer; he is an entertainer. He does not make accurate statements about games, because his intention is to entertain you. If you take his claims as accurate, then you are probably delusional.

If I agreed with Yahtzee on every single gripe he has with games I would only have played 3 games in my life.

"to a certain extent" is much too lenient of an answer. Nearly everyone will pick that.

No, he makes up and exaggerates a load of things to be funny. He even admits as much. Sometimes that works, sometimes it just feels forced.

He very rarely makes a point that I would solidly agree with. Bioshock 2 with the ability to eat, smoke and drink while in a Big Daddy suit being stupid is true as it's the first criticism I noticed of the game and I am a huge fan of the series.

Another one is that a game that has single player should be able to stand up on it's own without adding on multiplayer.

In other words this:

This kind of thread is so overdone.

And you're a moron if you blindly follow everything he says, although he does make some darn good criticisms at some points.

I love seeing him rip apart a game I hate though...

Dude, did you enlarge your avatar or something? It's like it's forcefully putting my eyes in a trance now...
I did. It is now 100 x 100 in size!

It's a bit grainy, but I shall try to improve it a bit

What some people don't get about Yahtzee, is that he's merely a persona of one Benjamin Croshaw.

Good 'ol Ben Croshaw is merely an entertainer. That's all he is. Yahtzee is his character that he uses to entertain us. That's why is is as ridiculously harsh as he is. He does it to be funny, and to entertain people. Without that, he wouldn't be making the kind of money he is now, nor would he have the level of popularity he has.

I see his shows more as observations and when i play game that i know he's reviewed those points he makes become clear and i think "wow I remember Yahtzee bringing this up"

Who the hell is Ben Croshaw?

He has already explained that the critiques he make are biased towards being harsh. It generates more comedy. I appreciate him all the better when he unexpectedly states how he enjoyed a game.

Also, Welcome to the Escapist!

I don't think he hates everything (Contrary to popular belief.) I believe he likes to poke fun at some major downfalls of a game, but not entirely loathe the game. If you got a review from Yahtzee where he said everything he liked and nothing he didn't, he'd be no different then any other sorry bastard to write a game review. He tries to criticize the game, but if you'll listen, there are usually aspects he likes.

I always thought the size limit was 75x75? Or is it a publishers club thing?

Well, I shouldn't say I *completely* agree with him. I just want to see how everyone's opinion on him. This is really an experimental thread because I just registered. I'll try to have less noobish questions later.
