I call it a "Christmas Tree" despite not being Christian and knowing that the holiday originally belonged to the Pagans and was just later alterd by the Christians so that they could celebrate it while not changing religion, I still call it a "Christmas Tree". Why? Because that's just about what everyone calls it, and because I have never seen anyone get offended because they weren't Christian and people still called it a "Christmas Tree".

It's a Christmas tree.

And since when was anyone offended by that? It's a Christmas tree, that's what it is.

IT IS CHRISTMAS. THE TREE IS USED TO CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS. ERGO, IT IS A FUCKING CHRISTMAS TREE.

In that same vein, it isn't called a 'holiday' menorah, now is it?
Damn, you beat me to it. Just like Lord_Panzer says, If we're going for the whole Political Correctness with Christmas, why not go the whole hog and call it a Minorah a "Holiday Candle Holder"?

But I do doubt that calling it a "Christmas Tree" in America is illegal. It sounds just a little over the top

Christams Tree, since it's a tree for Christmas.

Sorta makes sense, doesn't it?

It might be an odd off-rule in one of the states in the same category as "In Chicago, it is illegal to fish in one's pajamas." (Quick source [http://www.azzit.de/humor/30.html]). That said, here in Holland we call it a 'kerstboom' which literally translates to christmas tree.
