Poll: How do you play FPS games?

me, I go for the sniper way of playing, I mean the real sniper way, not the designated marksman way which so many people get confused with sniping

First of all, uncalled for. and second what do you mean by not the designated marksmen way?

A combination of Sniper and Sneaky. Basically, anything that lets me remove oppossition without realising I'm there. In the words of a murderous Fairie Queen: "I hate fair fights. They're too easy to loose." I even designed my Halo 2 Arbiter to blend in with a few of the browner environments.

Mostly Sniper though. There just something so satisfying about watching any survivors scurrying for cover.

In games like FO3 however, you need to be more cautious than that.

Single player- a combination of heavy and run n gun. I usually grab the gun with the biggest clip go from there.
Multiplayer- I'm a bit more sneaky and tactical online. I play sniper every once in a while.

In games like FO3 however, you need to be more cautious than that.

I was more talking about multiplayer games or RPG FPS's like Mass Effect, although in Half Life 2 you can use the crossbow to snipe.

Change it up really, especially in TF2. Although I prefer Scout, so Run and Gun/Sneaky would be my thing. In MW2 I prefer Sniping.

I go run-and-gun with an assault rifle but I always end up using it as a sniper rifle. The scopes in most games are pretty good for first bullet accuracy.

How is the scout sneaky, I just see him as a really fast run a gunner.

I run around with my sniper and only stop at one place if there's very few people. If not, I'll probably just try and no scope them.

Oh I once got a sweet no scope, guy was coming at me with a assault rifle about ten paces away and *bam* no scoped.

I play different depending on my mood. Sometimes I will snipe and other times I might be just running out there with a machine gun. I don't do sneaky in FPSes usually, kinda pointless when people are spamming grenades everywhere.

I've noticed a lot of people have mentioned Team Fortress 2, where you can play a medic and heal. but since its only in TF2 I wont add it to the poll, but if you like to do that then just vote "other" and post it.

My love is always for snipers, but dedicated melee and stealth can be a lot of fun too.

It really depends on the game.

A 'few shots kill' = sniper and sneaky-sneak
A 'health respawns via health pack = run and gun and sneaky
A 'health respawns via itself' = heavy, run and gun and sniper.

Largely I try and co-operate with my team members when communication is possible and if not then I just use my initiative. Sometimes I can get a little too carried away shooting people so I try and make a tactical approach as well.
So I'm a mix of run and gun and tactical.

Single player - Run N Gun
Multiplayer - Sniper, unless everyone camps, then I get out my shotgun and hunt them down.
