Generally only while drunk and stoned and revelling in the delights of turning digital heads into digital mush with digital shotguns.

My doctor says there's nothing wrong with me

Really just depends on the game. If there's a viable stealth option, I'm much more likely to go with that approach.

However, multiplayer I always tend to be a run-and-gun type of player. Mostly because I can't be a proper sniper without getting yelled at for camping.

I play to win. So I'll use whichever of those strategies to do so.

However, generally speaking, I am a fairly conservative player and dislike dying, so I rarely take all that many risks.

Change it up really, especially in TF2. Although I prefer Scout, so Run and Gun/Sneaky would be my thing. In MW2 I prefer Sniping.
How is the scout sneaky, I just see him as a really fast run a gunner.
If you play him in such a way he's very sneaky, I often whizz up behind unsuspecting snipers and Heavies and unload into them. I'm not saying its primarily sneaky, it's just something the scout can do.

Playing Quake III competitively means that I need to change my game often. Overall, I tend to be aggressive and bold in my tactics. I have better aim than most, so I take advantage of that good aim when I can.

If it's single player I tend to err on the sneaky side. Multiplayer though, I just try to fit in best with the team which could mean I play any number of roles.

So you wait for the enemy to kill each other through friendly fire?
I read that as playing an engineer in TF2. My sentry doesn't go for them, they come for it.

I'm a sniper, but I play very offensively. And I use my pistol as much as my rifle.

Sneakty. Tactical. I like to let my opponents use themselves against themselves. :)

I let them make mistakes which allow me to kill them, I.E. so if they weren't making said mistakes they might have lived. xD
Seemingly what no one seems to understand about FPS games. If a team were to sit back and wait for the other team, they would win 90% of the time. Communication also plays a major role in many FPS games...something else to ponder...

multiplayer? simple: spray and pray. i run as fast as i can and surprise attack them. its a surprise because no one thinks anyone is dumb enough to rush an entire team by himself. i can usually get one or 2 kills.

regular fps, i take it slow. i perfer a assult rifle and hang back till im sure i killed erryone.

Anything but sniper... its just not as fun as other play-styles in FPS games.

Fun to grief them, though

depends

If im using an Assault rifle im nothing but run n gun

when I snipe I ignore run n gun sniping because well its the exact opposite of what snipers actually do, Im a huge camper when I snipe but I just find it fits the role

depends on the map. i like to decide my tactics based upon the map conditions.

closed confined spaces with narrow corridors will have me running and gunning at high speeds to throw enemies off blance.

more open areas will have me using stealth, and running from cover to cover, and displacing after taking a few shots. think sneaky and sniper combined.

Which ever tactic best suits the situation, lot's close in spaces, Shotguns and SMGS. Large area with a high vantage point, sniper, I'm usually pretty flexable.

While it's been years since I played an fps I used to be somewhere between sneaky and run and gun depending on the situation.

I feel ashamed that the majority of people said Run'n'Gun. That's the worst possible way of playing any shooting game, and anyone who tries it usually dies a lot.

Personally, I opt for the sneaky approach. I play using the same tactics (within reason) I would in real-life, considering I have some knowledge of real-world military tactics. And that almost always works really well. Run'n'Gun is just the idiot's way of playing, I personally think.

Not to brag, but I'm actually good at all of those. Only because of my many many years of gaming.

I don't really have a specific playstyle.
I tend to switch tactics pretty quickly.
Don't really like being as predictable as I find other people to be sometimes.
Although I don't like camping tactics, not counting sniping nests.
