Poll: How do you play: Good or Evil?

I generally play as a good guy, maybe it's just the way it's written, but I generally can't get into the way "evil" is done in most games.

I tend to emerse myself into the games I play so when I play, I'm not just controlling that character, I AM that character and since I'm not an evil person, I tend to play the good guy. Personally, I think I'm more neutral than anything but not so according the the games.

I lean more toward the Han Solo hero... generally heroic and good, but with a touch of the rogue in me. I guess I'm just too kind-hearted to play the total douchebag.

Of course, all bets are off when it comes to Fry Cry 2 ;-)

Usually I'm the good guy. I just don't have the heart to be evil...

...With the exception of Fable 2, where I disliked the NPCs so much that I was quiet happy wiping out an entire town.

For me, I tend to play as whatever character the game doesn't want me to be. If I'm supposed to be good, I tend to be a a villainous character. If I'm supposed to be evil, I try to be the good character.

Usually, I do whatever i'm feeling in each situation. this means i'm good to good people, but if an annoying character betrays me, i'm taking them the fuck out: no mercy style.
a game has to be really good (fallout 3) to make me play both ways...

I start with good and then move to evil. Then I do good again totally killing everything in my path. I like to think of it as the "fallen hero" path.

I like the evil way..but many games missrepresent this side..when you become evil no one is willing to interact with you anymore..but there should be some other evil people besides me in those god forsaken lands , right? my 2 cents

Good, mainly because people can't seem to understand that there tend to be two axises (axes?) as far as alignment is concerned (the "moral" axis, which is the Good-Evil one, and the "law-abiding" one, which is Law-Chaos), so my only options are "Lawful Good" and "Chaotic Evil". Given that my preferred alignment is Lawful Neutral, well the best I can do then would be Lawful Good.

But I honestly wish I had the option to play Lawful Neutral.

I just can't help playing good. Since most dialogue options

-I will do this for free, as I am nice.
-I will do this after you pay 1 billion dollars and eat three live babies
-I will do this for free... but really I'll just go and eat a live baby and blame it on you.

So kinda, duh, I'm gonna choose 1.

I love playing evil just for this reason. Most RPG's present you with outlandishly over the top evil choices and I can't help but choose them just to see what boundry they decide to cross next.

Usually good, since being evil nearly always introduces gaping plot holes and character derailment and it gets on my nerves. It's not really a choice, when you get right down to it, all you're really choosing between is 'hero' and 'hero who stabs the people he's supposedly saving for no reason'. I don't like stabbing people for no reason. That's boring.

There are exceptions, I like to be evil on Fable simply because the NPC's irritate the shit out of me, which is more due to terrible game design. I played evil on my first time through Planescape: Torment, as it handily avoids the problem I mentioned above because the writers weren't a bunch of lazy pricks. And, while it's not technically evil, I played Renegade on Mass Effect because it's fucking hilarious.

In real life I'm more neutral, but in video games I always end up as the good charcter.

I always tend to try to play like if i myself actually had these powers and was in this world...strangely i tend to be the epitome of good (or damn close...) with the exception of the first KotOR....i was good right up until the point where you had to choose whether to side with Bastilla or the other Jedi...what can i say, i'm a sucker for a pretty girl making promises of "raw emotional release"....giggity...
