I have never actually heard anyone say "Fack" as the pronunciation for FAQ, and I always say 'Eff Ay Cue'. The more you know!

I always say "fack"... why would you take the time to sit there and say it out "eff ay cue"? I remember the first time I heard it was gamefaqs.com. And you can't tell me it sounds better to say "game eff ay cues dot com" than "gamefacks.com". And facks sounds a lot like facts. I've never even heard anyone say f.a.q's...

I always say F.A.Q. I've never pronounced it the other way, also, I'm English, so some people might mistake me for saying fuck.

'Eff, Ay, Cue' most of the time, though I'll occasionally say 'Frequently Asked Questions' instead.

Dunno if it's been said yet, but I normally say FAQ, unless we are talking about GameFAQS. In that case, I pronounce it Game-fags... nothing against the site or gays, it's just easier to pronounce it that way, and everyone I talk about it to knows what I mean anyway.

I'm a bit odd. Out loud, I usually pronounce the acronyms (except faq. If it's a formal conversation, I'll say Frequently Asked Questions. If it's informal, I'll just say fack, because it seems a bit cumbersome to say in a quick sentence.) but when I mindspeak, I actually kind of muffle them. I don't think doubleyou tee eff, nor do I think what the fuck. I think "wudufug" or "omuguh".

Although I just thought of it, I really should start thinking about MMORPG as "Morepig".

I find it easier to just laugh, personally.
When reciting text to people if i started manically laughing i may get (more) odd looks...
When do you need to recite text?
"I just got a reply from Mr. X"

"What did he say?"

"'Just having a quick wank then I'll set off. LOL', What an idiot..."

Without the "LOL" he may have been serious (he may even still have been).
He probably was. I say L.O.L if that's the case. Rarely is though.

The normal way...

I'll leave the decision of which one I am talking about up to you.
the normal way is "F.A.Q." because it's an acronym; I have no clue when people started trying to pronounce acronyms...

lol --> lawl
MMORPG --> Ma-Mor-Pa-Ga
FAQ --> Fack

how long until...
OMG --> Ohm-ga
WTF --> wha-tifff

I mean seriously people; what's with it? you're not being "cute" you're being annoying...

here let me embed it for ya

Best example right here, love Bullshit. But yes, I say it like "fack" (like in "gamefacks dot com" and stuff) because it is an acronym.

So I guess I'm the only one that actually reads "Frequently Asked Questions" every time I see it? :s

I think "Fack" flows better off the tongue than saying "eff ay cue". Certainly sounds cooler, at least

Haha, I have a funny story about this. I actually pronounce it spelling out the letters, you know, eff-ay-cue. But for some reason, whenever I talk about visiting GameFAQs, I say Gamefags. xDD

I pronounce it "fack" just so I could say "I don't know, let me look at the facks." Get it? It's a pun! Facks? Facts?.......I'm funny dammit.

When you use a lot of acronyms, you start to sound like an idiot when you actually spell them out.

High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMVE)= Hum-vee
Government Purposes(GP) = Jeep
Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus (SCUBA) = Scu-ba
Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missile(AMRAAM) = Am-ram
National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) = Na-sa

It's not unusual to create phonetic pronunciations of acronyms, especially considering cumbersome these acronyms can be.

Try making a sentence using a couple acronym-words, and pronounce each and every letter. Tell me you don't sound like an ass.
Good God, I swear I did not know all those words were actually acronyms. I feel a rush of enlightenment now. :)
