Another side note, I will NEVER understand the mentality that if a girl is okay with casual sexual encounters that she is somehow not relationship material. I've had quite a few casual encounters in the past blossom into real relationships, long term kinda stuff. And not once did trust become an issue, nor was there ever an issue with cheating.

Difficult for me, was in a poly relationship for a long time, and am part of a great fetish scene in London. Therefore, loads of promiscuous sex, any way possible. However, I find I take on partners quite a lot, and very rarely just one night things (group sex doesn't count, as generally I'll have a play partner involved as well).

Sex is in my life an intimate experience between me and the person I love. That's how it stays. If I want entertainment, I watch a stand up or play a game.

I've only ever had one intended one-night stand and we're still together almost a year later, so I suppose the hook up again later one.

I'm more of a relationship kind of guy. That being said, I slept with a girl on our third date, so it's not like I'm sheltered, but I am also not that outgoing, if that makes sense? I won't sleep with random people, but I certainly don't avoid it, I just prefer it in a relationship is all.
Number 3 seems the best to me. You don't cut off the possibility of something more meaningful arising from this while at the same time enjoying the type of evening only intense passion can provide. No need to limit yourself on either side in this case, though if the girl seemed to be really cool I would probably shoot for the number and leave sex to later.

Used to be the 'hit it and quit it type' though more because the women I was sleeping with would be leaving me before morning (I had a complicated adolescance)
Nowadays I'm in a relationship currently, and I've been in others, and I much prefer it. For one thing, I actually find that it gets better the more you know someone, because you both learn what exactly pushes the other's buttons, instead of just having a set of generic moves which seem to get a moderate reaction out of every girl/boy.
