Every now and then I meet someone and the topic of sports come up. Then i have to explain that I don't like them at all, receive befuddled looks, explain why I don't for 5 minuets, then repeat every 2-3 weeks... with the same person.

I'm sorry but they're SOOOO boring to me. I've watched entire football/baseball/hockey games without the slightest feeling of interest. I guess i could see it's theoretical intrigue; the world greatest athletes who spend their lives dedicated to a game for your amusement, but in practice it sucks -->IMO<--.

Out of curiosity I would like to see how many people, with whom I share common interests (hence the poll on this site), like sports, and to what degree... for science :)

OK the poll is f'd up, hehe

*option 1 on the poll should say "(sorry God, but you come 2nd on Sunday!)"
*option 2 "I like 'em quite a bit"
*option 3 "I really don't care"

I like sports as a whole, but I love football (not soccer, mind you), and I play it in real life more then watch it on TV...

so basicly I either like or love sports, depending on your definition...

Hmm it really depends on the sport.
Like i love watching hockey and rugby cos it is like RAWWWRR!!! I also used to like playing hockey in high school but was pretty lethal with a hockey stick.

I am not a football fan. I hate the football culture in the UK and my family are not into it thus i do not follow.
I practice karate, have done since i was 11, tho i have been out of it for a few months due to personal things and uni and injuries. I also run now and then but i have to admitt i ruddy well hate it and have to push myself to do it cos the ol' metabolism is catching up!

I think Sports are fun if you are doing them with friends. I often think some things would be awesome to join, dancing or netball or something but then i think that the people in any club will have been doing it for years so maybe it's a bit late for me to be joining and tramping around like a fairy elephant!

IMO participating beats watching sports any day of the week <3

I love sports.
I played basketball, football, and I wrestled in high school, and I'm currently an amateur MMA fighter.

I fall into the not a big fan category. I only like hockey, rugby, and soccer. All those other sports are incredibly boring for me unless its during the Olympics, except for baseball. Its boring all the time everytime.

I'm not a huge fan but I do enjoy watching rugby and I generally follow the Six Nations.
It's one of the more exciting sports.
The players are also a bonus.

I love ice hockey. I love to watch it on tv, attend games, and play it on my 360 (I would play it but I can't ice skate that well). I do watch the occasional baseball or American football game but they aren't as exciting to me.

For a minute I thought you meant playing sports. Sports for me are something I really enjoy doing. I go kitesurfing, skiing, snowboarding, play badminton with friends, and go running but WATCHING sports?! What's the point? You're not enjoying any of the physical activities and people would say "Dur, we go cheer for team" and do this AT HOME IN FRONT OF THEIR COUCH? I mean come on wtf. So no for the record I don't enjoy watching sports on tv, only at a bar so I can get drunk and annoy my friends who are into this sort of stuff.

I love sports. Basketball, football (American), and baseball, specifically. It is the only thing on TV that I watch anymore.

"I like 'em quite a bit" was my reaction. Watching them, except for the Football (or Soccer as it's known around some parts, including around here :p ) world cup, is very "meh" for me. But I love playing soccer. I played for about 11 years as center defense/sweeper (and I got very good at it, I'm quite proud to say) before finally stopping a couple years ago, but even now I love kicking the ball around or having a friendly game with friends whenever possible.

(EDIT: Oh, yea. I also enjoy Archery. But I've only been practicing Archery for about 2 years now, so it slipped my mind when compared with the aforementioned 11 years... And Tae Kwon Do for about 5 years. And a couple other sports for shorter periods, but I'm tired, and can't do the brain thing right now.
Even though I don't play properly anymore, I still think of Soccer as the main sport I play. :S )

So, yea. I figure "I like 'em quite a bit" covers the grounds between my meh feeling for watching, and my love for actually playing.

I like american football, ice hockey, and to a lesser extent baseball. Though until the end of the season on any of the sports i'm not really watching them on TV. I enjoy watching a game with friends but I couldn't tell you more than maybe one or two player's names on each team.
I played FOOBOW! in high school I was a lineman.
