With all the ME3 hate about the ending, I'd like to know what everybody really thinks about ME3 as a whole. And if the ending(s) was bad enough to ruin the game as a whole. Looking for more yes or no type answers.

I thought it was a good game but a lot of that was just because of the emotional attachments I had to characters from the prior 2 games. Mass Effect 3 sort of had an edge in that they didn't need to get me to care about anyone new. In fact, the new characters they did add, I didn't give two shits about. James Vega, seriously, why are you in this game again?
All in all, it was a good game until the last 5 minutes when it tanks horribly but I'd still recommend it to someone who wants to finish the series. I just recommend turning off the game right at the end instead of beating it.

Well, I thought it was the best game in the trilogy. The first one was good, the second one was kind of meh, but this one really had me emotionally invested from the get-go. Now, admittedly this had a lot to do with Hale and I'm definitely not saying I had no problems with the game, but over all I really enjoyed it and once I can look at my Shepard again without wanting to sob like a baby, I'll probably play through the trilogy again to see if I missed any foreshadowing.

Nothing... NOTHING beats ME1 in my opinion. It just has this spacey flavor unique to that particular game. ME2 and ME3 are solid but ME1 goes above and beyond in my book. Still, I enjoyed mE3 thoroughly.

99% of Mass Effect 3 is one of the most fun, fast-paced games I've ever played, with extremely well done tone and atmosphere and well written characters that are simultaneously fun and believeable. One of the best games I've ever played.

...........You can guess what the other 1% is so I'm not even going to bother.

Loved everything. That's pretty much it really, it's been the most incredible journey ever in gaming for me. Didn't care much for James at first but his character isn't as one-dimensional as he looks. Loved every little tidbit about the universe that you thought you knww being turned upside down. And I especially loved all the little things that make the whole universe such a rich and engaging place.

My feelings on the ending itself are... complex, but the other 99% of the game is undiluted greatness.

It's a great, great game. Don't let the ending keep you from playing it, because if it weren't for the endings, I would have called it the best of the series, as it stands, Mass Effect 2 beats it. The game is great, and while the endings do drag it down, it also drags down the whole series, in my opinion, not just the third.

And, hopefully, those endings will be changed for the better.

I thought the game was great, and the ending was decent. It was pretty much what I expected.

The combat was okay. Certainly a step up from ME2. Other than that there was just too much wrong with it to make it good. Mediocre at best, definitely the worst in the series. I even went in with low standards after reading some reviews and it was below those.

As a whole, I adored it like I did with the rest of the series. Obviously, there's the problem with the ending but besides that I adore it.

I can't look at it as a whole because until the very last 10 minutes it was a great game with so many amazing moments. That only makes the ending so much more depressive. I want to want to start a new playthrough, but I just can't. I get to the import save screen and I just give up. I've lost all will to play ME. That shouldn't happen in Mass Effect. I was supposed to love this game forever and have at least 6 playthroughs with different classes.

It's not very good. I haven't wanted to punch video game characters in the face as badly as some of the stupid, stupid characters in ME3 since Final Fantasy X (why yes, I do understand that it's subjective and only to me).... and the endings suck... and I hate the stupid kid.

Bottom line: one of the reviews I read about ME3 (who gave is an 88/100) stated that they thought ME3 had quite a few flaws but was tolerable. That's the problem, I don't want to play a game I just tolerate or one that has me rolling my eyes at it. I can do better and after leading me on for 2 games and leaving me with that I just... I'm not doing it any more. Now I'm seriously debating whether I should return it or not. I can get $40 for it at Entertainmart and I don't think Bioware can make this right by me (not even the ending) and even if they could I don't think that they would.

After DA2 and ME3 I'm afraid that I'm not in the intended audience for Bioware anymore =(

I have absolutely no emotional stake in the Mass Effect series. Saw some trailers, unimpressed. Saw some gameplay, unimpressed. Played a couple of demos, unimpressed.

Combat in 3 was a mile better than 2 and the customization is the PERFECT blend of 2 and 1, but the story and Development was better in 2, So im kinda in 2 minds which is the better game.

But still ME3 is a GREAT game, just wish there was more variation in enemies and more scope to the story, I fear the Reaper invasion of at the start, while being a Fantastic hook wrote them into a corner on this, personally waiting to the mid way point for the invasion would have been better but then we would have lost the REALLY effective opening section.

But the Combat, Gear set up, Dare i say it kinect stuff and the Shockingly good (if in some need of balancing, but for a first stab at it what the hell)should be commended.

Would love a half price Mass Effect 3.5(think a 2400/£20 game or a larger DLC) style game with more multi player co-op stuff in it as the main focus. Co-op Scripted missions like the stuff from CoD would be great. could probs crap that out with hardly any development time needed.
