Best Mass Effect game to date until... well, you know. Still a great game, I just hope they find a way to resolve that without reducing to absurdity.

This. I was really high on it at first, but the side quests get tiring and the frequent load screens make me not want to boot it up. It is solid, but it has become chore for me to play it. I'm decided to ignore side quests from now on and I'm just rushing through the main story because I want to start Tales of Graces f this weekend.

Good. The dialogue, the character interactions and development. Excellent work there, then the end where I don't even Bioware thinking the what.

I've been very vocal in my disgust towards the ending (yes, singular) of Mass Effect 3. It sucked, the ending that is, i could go on for an entire article or more about why it sucked, but thats not what this thread asked.
As a whole, Mass Effect 3 was a brilliant game, well crafted gameplay, decent combat with good improvements from the previous two, well driven plot based story. In short, it was an exceptional game, its like the game was a delicious meal, only when you come to take the last bite you find a gigantic cockroach in the middle of it all, it ruins the entire thing and even sours your opinion of any previous meals you may have enjoyed from this certain eatery (metaphors people).

Not done yet but I just did the main mission on the quarion homeworld. So far I love it. I know about how the ending is terrible but hopefully It isn't bad enough to ruin the entire experience.

It was a great game. The combat was precise and responsive, though the cover button/revive/activate button being three things at once becomes a problem at times. The Story was engaging, ending and a few minor against-cannon moments aside. A few minor grips aside it was a very enjoyable experience and well worth the money.

Mass Effect 3 is a great game.

If it wasn't for the shitty endings, however, it'd be my personal best of all time(which is still held by FF7 thanks to said shitty endings).

We understand that you don't like Mass Effect 3. The things you say are deliberately said in such a way that anyone that liked the game is pissed off and then when they proceed to reply back you call them a fanboy. We get that you don't like the game and you are entitled to your opinion but can you please just leave people who liked the game and wish to discuss it alone. Why don't you go find a topic or make a topic about a game that you like and leave the rest of us alone. Please and thank you

OT: Yeah I liked it. Sure its not perfect but it was fun and at the end of the day that is what games should be.

I don't understand people who like things even though they had bad endings. It just doesn't mesh with me. I think those people are mentally defective.

You could get a private limo ride, champagne, foot rub. then when you get out someone kicks you in the nuts. That was not a good journey.

You'd walk barefoot through brambles for ice cream and cake.

The conclusion is the most important part of anything. If you don't agree, then you're an alien freak and I don't understand how your brain works.

So yeah, the end of Mass Effect 3 sucks (It also had a multitude of other problems), so the entire game was unsatisfying. Since Mass Effect 3 was the conclusion to the whole series I can't even enjoy the first two games any more and that's a damn shame because I absolutely loved those games.

Combat: Nice step up, best in series.
Story: Seemed too catered for the fans + the ending. Other than that, Grade-A Bioware writing.
Rpg Elements: Basically the same as ME2, dumbed-down.
Dialogue: Extreme lack of options. My personal biggest downfall for the game, besides then ending.

Disappointing, but good.

So the old proverb, it's not the destination that matters, it's the journey that counts means nothing to you?

If you think that a poorly executed 1% of a game, even less when you count it as a trilogy, makes the other 99% of sheer epicness worthless, I'd say you were the mentally defective one... Its like saying sex is worthless without ejaculating. Or eating a delicious meal without finishing everything on the plate...

Um, could you explain this to me.
How did you come to the conclusion that Garrus hates Tali?

Did I miss something in the first two games?

The gameplay itself was better than in any the other ME games by a fair bit, and the graphics had an overall improvement (Despite big problems with lipsync and some texture issues). Other than that, conversations were at their worst for the series. At least 60% auto dialogue overall, and Paragon/Renegade dialogue options were either far too easy to get, or impossible (To easy: Almost everything. I cannot think of one that wasn't offered to me throughout the game. Well, except... Impossible: Illusive Man final dialogue option. By that point, full bar of Paragon except 1/30th Renegade, couldn't pick the Paragon option. Uhh... Wah?). Aforementioned lipsync and texure issues really got to me by the end. The story tanked in the last 5 minutes, and at certain other points too. A lot of those 'sudden' moments felt forced throughout the game. Speaking of moments, I can think of maybe one or two moments that actually had me feeling anywhere near what I felt at the end of Mass Effect when you save the Destiny Ascension, or when you fight through Virmire, or any other 'epic' moments that I felt in the previous games. The cutscenes were usually bland and a lot of it felt... forced. The 'Sword' space fight felt like it should have been epic, but I heard no music throughout it (Arguably a good choice, though it took away from the epicness of it) and all the dialogue in the scene felt forced and unneeded. Nobody said anything with any emotion, and it all just felt flat. It was the same for a lot of moments in the game. I think jumping into orbit of Rannoch to board the Dreadnought, and the walk down the boarding tube, felt cool, and curing the Genophage felt awesome, but everything else... Just didn't feel right. Side missions were also a let down. Other than the ones where you met up with previous team members, they were just... bleh. Either multiplayer hoard mode tie in or scan and retrieve missions.
Other things I could say, but overall I enjoyed it. Lots of flaws, but other than the endings nothing so major as to annoy me.

When that one percent it the final one percent. Yes.

Would you take the private limo ride to a kick in the nuts?

You sort of shot your self in the foot with the sex argument.

The food one would be closer to the last bite you ate left a bad taste in your mouth.
(Also eating has survival tied to it so that would be necessary regardless)

When you experience something and are ultimately left with unpleasantness you're at a lower point than when you started. It doesn't matter how good the middle was, if you don't come out of it better off than you started it wasn't worth it.

Just to be clear I'm not saying an ending has to be "happy" for it to be good. The end has to be satisfying.

"hate" was a bit strong. Dislike is a better word. Garrus just had an overall dislike for quarians. You can see it in the garrus-tali elevator banter.

Tali showed no interest either.
I wouldn't really say dislike. They were agreeable, nothing more. In ME1, Garrus is as prejudiced against Quarians as the rest of the galaxy, but I feel that in ME2 he got over it and accepted her. Friendly, but nothing more. And Tali was too enamored by Shepard to care about Garrus.

OT: ME3 was a great game, however there are things, most notably Kai Lengs massive plot armor and the ending, that hold it back from being much, much better. God do I hate Kai Leng. He might have been a good character in the book, but he was very poorly implemented in the game. "OMG, Kai Leng! He's so badass, watch yourself Shepard!!!!!" *****, I'm Commander Fucking Shepard! No Cyber Ninja Assassin is gonna beat me!!! *Kai Leng uses plot armor. It's super effective!* Fuck you Bioware!

Nothing... NOTHING beats ME1 in my opinion. It just has this spacey flavor unique to that particular game. ME2 and ME3 are solid but ME1 goes above and beyond in my book. Still, I enjoyed mE3 thoroughly.
I kinda have to agree. There was something about ME1 that sort of set it apart from the other two.

Don't get me wrong. I love the entire series. ME3 however, didn't have film grain.(or at least it wasn't nearly as noticeable) Damn I miss the film grain...

OT: I do enjoy the game as a whole. While I can understand why people would be upset about the ending, and I do wish them the best of luck in convincing Bioware to change it, I'm fine with it now and it isn't going to affect my enjoyment of the series.

It's a shitty fanfic turned into a game.

Fucking terrible. Really not interested in big-budget shit games being called 'game of the year'
I'm sensing some hostility.

Don't ask me how I know. Trade secret.
It did come off a little fanfictiony to me. Ashley and Tali getting drunk. Or Garrus and tali hooking up. I'm sorry fangirls and boys. GARRUS HATES TALI. HE WOULDNT HAVE HOOKED UP WITH HER.
Zeel you have said many things in the past. And no matter how crazy they seemed to be, they were still your opinion. But what you've said there is a big fat lie. Garrus and Tali have both stated how good it was to be working together again if they are both in the sqaud. Not to mention they enjoy playfully teasing each other.

If what you stated right there doesn't prove that you're a troll, I don't know what is.

I never really got that impression
There were actually a couple scenes in ME 2 where I thought Garrus was flirting with Tali (and she shot him down)

It's a pretty common thing to hide affection that way.

Did you romance Garrus in ME 2? To me he came across as really awkward around women. (Or at least non-Turian women)
