I would say I'm in the 61%-80% range. Used games are just SO MUCH CHEAPER.

I'll only buy a new game if it's one that I REALLY REALLY want badly.

I'm not that trusting of pre owned games so i try and buy them new. I had a bad experience a couple of times with them. I'll only buy pre owned if i can't afford new. Of course i don't have a lot of money. I think about just under half are pre owned

I've only bought maybe 20 games used in my life. 15 for the N64 and 5 for other systems. I have this thing about buying games that have already been in the care of a possible retard. I would rather pay $64 for a game I'm almost guaranteed to work than $50 for a game that has a decent probability of being a fucked up disc.

I acually have exactly 50% 50% on my used to new game ratio.

I do buy much more used games though, I just return the ones i hate within a week back to gamestop, thats what I love about their used games, If you like them then you can keep them, if you hate them then you can return them.

Actually, all but ONE of my video games were bought used, and all of the board games I've ever purchased were used as well. (Magic: The Gathering cards are really the only "game" I'll buy new, for obvious reasons...)

Funny enough, the only video game I ever bought new I came to horribly, horribly regret buying. It was Kingdom Hearts re: Chain of Memories, it cost me $30, and it sucked BALLS. Played it for a day and a half back when it first came out in November (Because I'd JUST finished Kingdom hearts 1 and wanted to play it before playing Kingdom Hearts II, so I didn't want to wait for a used copy to become available) before deciding that it was an abomination. Haven't touched it since.

Other than that, well, why not buy them used? They're cheaper and all in playable condition..and I'm a stickler for making sure even the packaging is in good condition and includes the instruction manual (With, again, one notable exception, because there was no way in hell I was going to let Parappa the Rapper slip between my fingers, even if it was missing the proper case), so there's really no discernible difference. Plus, I buy them mostly from Gamestop, which has a 15-day "If you think this game sucks, you can return it to us for a full refund", so what do I have to lose? Nothing! :D

NO, if you return them within a week then you get full credit back, it's awsome, sometimes I just blow through a game and then return it.

I must have the most fucked up GameStop in existence then because I returned Halo 3 the next day and only got $4 out of the $50 I spent.

Fuck GameStop, I'm going with WalMart.

Only two games in my collection is used: Crackdown and Devil May Cry 4. DMC4 had a case made of aluminium and a fairly cheap price, so I just had to buy it. Also, they both had everything that was supposed to be in the box, i.e 48hour LIVE, booklet/manual, and Crackdown even had the Halo 3 beta thingie (even though i didn't need it).

The thing is, Gamestop is the only store that sells pre-owned games over here, and their prices are ridiculous. In some cases, it's actually cheaper to buy a new game.

I'd buy used, but everything I want to play is either too rare to be found used, or so old I might as well buy it wrapped.

100% of my console games and about 25% of my Pc games.

I wander how legal DRM that prevents second hand sale actually is...

I NEVER buy used games, because there only like 5 bucks cheaper, and they always bug out on me.
 Don't buy at gamestop, check the local video store or a small video gaming shop. They've got awesome prices.
Unless of course, you live in GB. The prices for your games are crazily cheap (judging from amazon.co.uk).

Edit: Seems you don't :p

I buy quite a bit of used video games. I go to my local flea market to find deals. I found the new prince of persia for 22 bucks used when it was saling new for 40 bucks.

Depends on how bad I want it. If it's a game hot off the press, and something I've been waiting for for quite some time, then I'll buy new. Otherwise, I'll go find a used copy a few months or years after the release. Most of the time I can wait, but I only started the policy about 2 years ago, so I'm in the 21-40% range
