New movies premiere at about RM12 ($4), then go down to about RM10 ($3). Cheap movie day tickets are about RM7 ($2), 3D movies are about RM15 ($5). It sounds cheap, but dollar-to-dollar comparison it comes to the average price.

I definitely think I get good value for money - a friend of mine and I usually go to our nearest IMAX cinema (less than an hour away) and we get one hell of a good deal.

A normal visit to that IMAX cinema would cost something like:
Car parking: £4 - £5
Tickets: £12 - £14 each

However, we get in significantly cheaper. My friend is registered disabled. He's in a wheelchair and has no use of his legs. As such he can get a special concession from the people at the IMAX:
Parking: Free
Ticket for my friend: Half price
Ticket for me (his able bodied assistant): Free.
Plus we get upgraded to the best seats in the house for free, as they are the only wheel-chair accesable seats in the place.

We split the costs fifty/fifty so I pay about £3 - £4 to go to an IMAX cinema :)

£5.35 ($8) for an afternoon ticket
£7.20 ($10) for an evening ticket
Between £9 ($13.50) and £11 ($16.50) for 3D
Monsters VS Aliens was £9 but Ice Age 3 was £11
However the cinema is a Cineworld Delux so it is beyond luxurious, came in the top 5 of the top 5 cinemas in the UK.

Regardless of price however, go on a wednesday and get Orange Wednesdays :D

£5 over here in England and then ofcourse all the movie food is a lot of money in the cinema's themselves so it comes to about £10 or more anyway if I buy food. I usually get chocolate, drinks and sweets outside of the cinema beforehand though. But I gotta get popcorn at the cinema...

Last movie I watched cost me 120 NOK, which is ca. $20.38

Edit: And I had to pay $4 for 3D-glasses as well.
What the hell is up with cinema being so cheap everywhere else?
Hell, in the cinema store, a bag of skittles'll cost me nearly $5.50.

$10AUD with membership. Membership pays itself off by the discounts it gives after only a few movies.

1.00 AUD = 1.02385 USD

The prices are about £5 for an adult and £3 for a child. Although for me it's £4 thanks to student discount. Also on Tuesdays all tickets are £3, £2 for me because of the student discount.

Living in NYC it would come to around $10.50 around the bouroughs and $15 in the city (Manhattan). I havn't gone to a 3-d film but I believe it would be around $15 in the bouroughs and $18 in the city don't hold me on that. Then you have Imax which cost more which can go from $20 to $25 depending on how upscale the theatre is. So yea I only saw an Imax movie once can't say I would want to do that all the time not now with my paltry sum anyway.

Here, they used to be nice at 6.50, 4.50 if you got the Early Bird.

Now they are 12.50! When I went to see a 3D movie, it was 14.50! Bwargh.

I don't really complain.

£4 something for a 2-D film.

£6 something for a 3-D film.

Absolutely free for me as my brother works for the cinema I go to.

I think the local theater is 9.50. The nicest one in town is closer to 13. Luckily though, we have a dollar theater where we can see movies that are about to come out on DVD dirt cheap. They still overcharge for drinks of course, but there's a dollar store next door...

Well, on Tuesdays and the earliest showing times its 4.34$, but normally its around 9.54$.

Mind you these are the numbers of ALL Icelandic movie theaters, seeing as the quality is the same.

Something like £6.20 for an adult ticket here. I don't know for certain, my friend usually gets tickets free somehow. I don't know what £6.20 English pounds is in American dollars. So I abstain from voting till I know.
