it's usually $8-$10. But 3D can be as cheap as $2 extra or as expensive as $10. But I don't go to the theater often. Hell I barely watch T.V. anymore!

Pure curiosity here. I heard one person talk about spending $20 on a ticket like it was a common thing. The theatre I usually go to costs $4-6 depending on the time of day I see the movie. The more expensive theatres in the area are $10.

Follow up: Do you feel like you get a good value on average?
Depends

$4 normal
After 5:00pm it's $8 for adults and $6 for kids

+$2 for 3D

Not sure what the average is, I don't go to normal theaters or even theaters that have first-week showings. I go to a place that shows 'em a month or so after release, in a converted elementary school gymnasium filled with living room furniture. The movies themselves cost $2 to see, but they also serve pizza and beer at normal restaurant prices.

I saw a film last night that was only $3.75. It was awesome. Only problem: the concessions were as much as the tickets.

There are two movie theaters in my town. One is older and the tickets are around $8-11, occasionally even cheaper. The newer one is a bit more expensive to go to, $11-17, depending on the time of the day, if the film's just come out and weather or not it's in 3D. I usually go to the more expensive one, just because the equipment are more up-to-date. I think it's a fair trade. It's still bloody expensive, but considering I practically LIVE there, well, whacha gonna do. They should let me permanently reserve a seat.

It's $9 just for a ticket. I don't usually get drinks or a snack, so it isn't all that bad pricewise.

Twenty dollars here since we now have some sort of amusement tax that upped things like extra butter from twenty-five cents to a dollar.

I think it depends on which theatre and what type of movie (3D or whatever), but my understanding is that it's roughly $9. I could be wrong, though; I haven't paid for a movie ticket in at least three years.

Like 6.5 "dollars". But the exchange rate makes it about 130 "pesos uruguayos". And that's a lot of money here...

At least for a movie that is. There are also the semi government semi private highbrow movie theaters that you can subscribe to monthly fees and pay very little for each movie, but the quality of the theater is lower and the movies aren't exactly of the mainstream taste.

Um, I never buy movies, do not see much point since I usually watch them once. So it's around $2NZD to rent them on a wednesday...

Which adds up to around $3USD.

Tron was $17... And they don't even let you keep the glasses.

It's like they want me to pirate it...

Matinée price (before 6pm) $6.50
Regular price (after 6pm) $11
3D price $16

I mostly go to the drive-ins during the summer. Double feature, and it costs $20 per car. Pack the car with friends and you're looking at maybe $3-$4 each for two movies. Can't beat that.

£6.50, which is around $10ish. Bit expensive really, considering most films nowadays are shite anyway.
