I'm beginning to get into the swing of this latest chapter in gaming history, but I can still count the amount of downloads I've gotten off Xbox Live on my fingers. To me, a physical, finished copy of a game has always been my interpration of an actual game. It'd done, gone, I can play it and know I've got the full content right here.
Discuss? Do you love it? And how often are you using the 'privilige' to gain extra content?

I like DLC, but I don't buy it unless it's a game I really enjoy, such as Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age.
Pretty much this for me as well. I sometimes buy DLC, but only if I REALLY want it, because the microsoft point system is rather annoying constantly having to buy another big drop of points if you're just a few points below what they need. So only big games (and sometimes I don't even buy it, such as map packs and some dragon age things)

I really only buy DLC for games I like and play a lot.
And I never buy DLC for FPS, the whole "pay us for new maps" bull is getting to be to much.

Ohhoho... Don't get me started on this. I would buy DLC a lot by a sometime buy the games long after its release and I have to pay about $30 to get it then and there.

Only time I've ever bought DLC was the Secret Armory of General Knoxx and the Zombie DLC for Borderlands.

I'll buy some, but with things like Fallout 3's GOTY edition it does fee rather pointless sometimes.

Uhh... never.

Any DLC I have was through those package editions. Y'know, the ones they release after about a year which come with the DLC included.

I normally don't buy DLC, but I made an exception for the MW2 map-packs. A decision I gravely regret.

The only DLC I've ever spent money on was the Secret Armory of General Knoxx for Borderlands. I wasn't disappointed.

I don't really get DLC unless I know it's REALLY going to be good and I will be getting my moneys worth. I.E- Secret Armory of General Knoxx (Borderlands) and Broken Steel (Fallout 3)

I only get DLC for my favourite games. Usually when I want to make my character go on more fun adventures. I know I've got each DLC for Fallout 3, something which I definitely do not regret, I bought the extra character pack for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, which I had a lot of fun with, my brother got the map packs for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, which I think he might enjoy. He complains about them all the time, though, but then, all he does is complain about that game. Still plays it from 9am to 11pm.
I got that asteroid mission thing for Mass Effect...oh, how could I forget all those map packs for Halo 3? That's something I don't regret. They were awesome.
I think that might be all of them. No, wait, I forgot the ones for Fable II. I wouldn't regret buying them if my disk still worked. That would be nice. But, since it doesn't, I'd far rather reclaim my points and buy that DLC for Red Dead Redemption.

Since i don't go online much i only buy the DLC for games i like when they make a boxed copy ala: borderlands dlc double pack order der Fallout Drei Game of the jahre detition :B

Personally i feel if you want to make dlc well fair enough but i feel almost like people are making a whole game and then diluting the original product as with Team Fortress 2 and all these new updates, because some have totally broken some classes but they've been manage well enough to not be obscenly over powered, or in the sniper's case rediculously bad.
My only exception for the DLC bussiness improving a game was Gold edition for Resi 5, The new mercs mode sparked some more life into the oringal version with far more character variety throwing me back to Resi 4's mercs.

Oh yeah about the DLC, not online, boxed copies are good, viva la revolution and long live the splitscreen.

Wow, I honestly thought the majority of gamers out there drooled over DLC. The sample on this thread obviously can't account for an entire gaming population, but it's certianly something to go on. Who knew - I'm in the majority!
