Poll: How often do you finish an entire game?

I make it a point to finish all the games I am capable of finishing.
Sice I stopped playing StarCraft for a bit, I rapidly fell out of whack with RTS skills, and now am having difficulty finishing some of the RTSs I have at the moment.
I'm also very stubborn about turning down the difficulty settings.

I finish it if it intrests me. For example, Alan Wake hooked me in and I couldn't resist playing it. Splinter Cell: Conviction, on the other hand, bored the crap out of me. I got about halfway through then came to the conclusion that I don't care about anything that was going on at all.

Almost everytime. The only game I have never completed is Condemned 2, got stuck and never had the will to carry on.

Out of the hundreds of games I've bought only five come to mind that I failed to finish:

Hoshigami - Took 20+ hours to make it to level 10, decided to cut my losses
Beyond Divinity - Saves got lost due to HD failure, didn't feel like starting over
Magna Carta Tears of Blood - Awful game, couldn't make it more than a few hours
Tales of Legendia - Soooo boring, beat the main story but never finished the epilogues
Lionheart Legacy of the Creator - Got close to the end and couldn't beat it with my character, never bothered to try again.

Every time. I payed for it/got someone to pay for it/downloaded it, I am going to BEAT IT.

In my opinion every game I decide to buy simply obliges me to finish it. It's like the question of leaving food on your plate, you just don't do it! Sure I have some games I have not yet even installed on my PC, but they're just waiting for their turn to be worked on.

I find it better to only play 1-2 games at a time so that I can even keep track of the plot at any time. It's like reading books, you don't start a new one before finishing the old. Besides, seeing an end to even a mediocre story often offers more emotion than the whole games length otherwise. It'd be just a shame not to use that.

I actually don't try to play another game until I beat the one I'm already on. I can't juggle games well. I've tried and then I end up not playing stuff for a long time. So instead I focus on beating 1-2 games at a time before doing anything else. I also try to beat the campaigns in FPS games like Call of Duty, Battlefield, or Halo before getting all into the multiplayer.

Most of my games I beat except ones that have a horrible story line.

For example, i've never beaten MW2 or Halo 3 and I will never do so. That story is just so horrible, what with all them stupid plots that make a tiny amount of sense and little gameplay variety otherwise.

It's very rare that I'll finish a game in it's entirety.

The games I tend to play until completion are usually short or have an excellent story. I can probably count them on just my fingers when it comes down to it. I usually feel like an outcast when gamer's complain about short games, since those are the only ones I can sit through. Twelve hours is sometimes quite a lot to me if the game hasn't grabbed my attention by the ghoulies. Perhaps it's my short attention span, maybe it's my habit of being picky, maybe I just tire of the same mechanics being used over and over. Regardless, it's a special game that will catch *my* attention.

Almost all the time... Could never get into the original Bioshock. Though I did beat the sequel!

I've put Always: although there are technically a couple of games I couldn't finish for various reasons, they are literally less than five. Compared to the amount of games I have struggled through (Driver 3, Oh God the memories, they burn!) I feel that justifies the Always choice.

I was going to say "almost always" but I just realised: a lot of especially newer games I have on my shelf I have never finished. Mainly 360 titles; AC1, Oblivion, GTA4, Ninja Gaiden 2 and Saints Row 2 are all standing there unfinished. And sadly I can't finish them anymore as my 360 died.

Most of them simply because of boredom (GTA4, AC1, SR2), Oblivion because I spend too much time dicking around and Ninja Gaiden 2 because it was too damned frustrating. Technically I haven't finished AC2 either, but I don't put that on my list because I actually wanted to finish that and almost did, but sadly, 30 minutes before I could finish it my 360 died. I was a sad panda.

I still haven't finished a couple of PC titles either, but I rather call them "postponed" games as I do intent to finish them all. Except for Starcraft, I just can't be bothered with that.
