I voted "considerably below average" because I am continually awed at the individual intellectual abilities of the people I meet in the world who know and instinctively understand things that are utterly baffling to me. The funny thing is that when the conversation turns to things I am well-versed in, they probably think the same thing about me.AvsJoe said:Just over 80% of people think that they are above 50%. Wow, collective Escapists, just wow. BTW I voted below average. I'm smart, but I'm terrible at applying my knowledge so that basically means I'm dumb.
Your hypothesis of most people picking above average has been studied and proven like 50 years ago. Nice trybenoitowns said:I haven't seen any results yet, but I am going to make an educated guess. A much larger proportion of people voted above average than average or below average. This shows how egotistic and self indulging you are. Maybe its true, maybe it just happened that an intelligent amount of people saw and viewed this. Maybe the viewers of this website are above average intelligence. This is very unlikely, as most of you would fail a retard internet test. So what do YOU O Intelligent One, think of this? Because you matter so much I would adore your input.
Because the vast majority of OP's are the same recycled question's I've already answered before? Does it really matter to you what my response is as long as it is on the subject at hand?MaxTheReaper said:It bothers me that I've never actually seen you answer a question put forth in an OP.D_987 said:snip
IQ is also pure, unadulterated bullshit on a stick and proves absolutely nothing...other than the truism, "the people who spout their IQs are most likely to be a lot dumber than the number would have you believe."FanofDeath said:I'm going off an IQ measurment here, is that such a bad thing?
134 is well above average.
Be that as it may, It's the only real measurement I can think of that might be vaguely relevant.SimuLord said:IQ is also pure, unadulterated bullshit on a stick and proves absolutely nothing...other than the truism, "the people who spout their IQs are most likely to be a lot dumber than the number would have you believe."FanofDeath said:I'm going off an IQ measurment here, is that such a bad thing?

Yes, but intelligence can't be bundled up as one attribute like that. It has many different facets and can't be represented by, for example, an ability to multiply numbers quickly.kahlzun said:For the definition: 'Smart' refers to rote or 'book' learning. If you can name all the Presidents in order, or can tell people what the top ten grossing movies are, then that's SMART
'Intelligence' is the ability to process knowledge. If you can explain something to someone well, that's intelligence. If you can mentally multiply any given 2 digit numbers with the speed of a calculator, that's intelligence.
The two can be had either separately or together. Many people have 'street-smarts' (ie: they've learnt how to read the 'street') without being too bright... and vice verse
They are called mistakes. Everyone makes them. Mine in this case was not doing a quick spell check.Wing0fSilver said:I fear for your classmates.Suiseiseki IRL said:Compared to a majority of the students I am foreced to sit in a class with, I am a freaking genius.
