I'm in a facebook group for people who share the same *full* name as myself (allowing for some slight spelling variation). This group has 63 members. And no, it's not "Smith".

Mine's pretty unique. The only other people with it that I've encountered are members of my own family.

Vázquez (mi first last name, father´s side) is actually dull, boring, and everyone here haves heardof it if they knowanithing about Latinos

Mar (mi seccond last name, mother´s side) is amazingly simple and beautifull, it means sea, and it fits because i love the sea, (i even was about to become a biologist just to work in the sea)

Mine's very common in Portugal and many people around here can guess my nationality just by listening to my surname. But they will still mispell it.

It's Goncalves, not Gonsalves!
PORTUGAL!!!
Mine is Lopes, also very common, and some people online think I am mexican... "lopez"...

Mines just Anderson , James Anderson. Fairly damned common to be honest, Especially in the two countries I have lived. Being Canada ( from Birth ) and the UK at the moment. Scandinavian names for the win though I suppose...beats 'Smith' anyhow (wink*)

Let me put it this way: theres only 2 more with my surname living in my town. One of them is my brother, the other my cousin. But then again my last name is the same as a city, so it hard to google it without endless pages about that city.

Oh and there was a painter from the 16th century with my surname. Dont know if he's related.

Mine is Robinson, common as muck.

My sister however got to keep my mothers maiden name which is Exley and she is the last Exley in the family line and is due in the summer of 2010 to change it to 'Galtrey.'
