How about masses of Internet forum traffic boringly speculating about the likelihood of 2012 eventuating slowing down cyberspace to a crawl, creating a complete global computer shutdown? Swing and a miss. We're running out of Helium and Phosphurous far faster than oil right now and without them we basically can't make modern technology or fertiliser (respectively).
