Actually, your statement is pretty much the general consensus among most people I've spoken to. I for one, absolutely loved it. Altair's outfit, the setting, the gameplay, the missions (granted a little repetitive), the story. There's a reason I Acquired all 400 flags in the game.y1fella said:

While I've never played the games, most reviewers have pointed out that Assassin's Creed II improved on the flaws in the first game. It doesn't seem to have the stigma of being a bad game, just a game that could have been better. I think it was Good Game's review of ACII where I heard that the first game was also rushed and didn't get a chance to live up to the vision of the developers.
First of all: opinions. Everyone has them, you included. Just because you didnt enjoy it does not mean that you are the only sane person left. If you have to rant about something at least try not to insult some Escapists by calling them stupid for liking something you dont.
I was a bit cheesed off when I found AC1 was not a stealth game as I'd expected, but more like a melee game with crap melee controls. I did, however, like AC1. It provided good eye candy when I went and explored the kingdom. When I want a good stealth aspect, though, I'm still stuck with Tenchu Z.

Assassin's Creed was a fun game for about 4 days. After that the shine wore off, the brown showed through, and it was all just pointless. Not worth the money.
