The good old "Word of Death"/"Dagger of Death" trick from Oblivion: Get access to a spell create/enchantment alter (Mage Guild quest or Wizard Tower DLC), and create a spell/enchantment which drains 100 HP for 1 second. As drain is a temporary effect, it costs little mana to cast/has many charges, but if the target's HP goes below zero it dies and doesn't come back when the spell ends: Essentially giving you instant one-hit-kills on almost anything until you hit about level 8 - 10, and most enemies have more than 100 HP.

Also the save/reload looting of dragon corpses in Might & Magic 7: You could deck out your party in some of the best items the game had to offer (including some Artifacts/Relics) before even leaving the starting island. Just had to kill a red dragon with your standard low level gear first...

Both makes the games considerably less fun to play though (though only temporarily so in Oblivion), as much of the challenge/loot incencitive is lost.

BF2 with a sniper rifle at the top of a giant tower. Oh no, I saw an artillery strike go off! I'll just move two feet back and wait it out. Snipe, snipe, hide, snipe, snipe, hide, snipe...
I've earned so much XP by picking off snipers in that tower.
Just wait for someone to come to a window and pop him in the head.
It's even better if multiple snipers keep spawning there.
It's like a shooting gallery with prices.

That depends on what you mean by "Broken". If you mean cheating/hacking the game, then no. If you mean finding glitches that make something extremely easy, then yes.

Eh, anything the game developers probably wouldn't like you doing in their game. Like when they want you to use all your rockets against the vehicles, but you save them for a boss fight and take the guy out in zero time!

Thames park for the Megadrive (Genesis) messing around with the password enter screen and typed in 9AAAAAA9AAA giving me all maps and $1,000,000,000 in cash.

FFVII after Aries *SPOILER* death for the Jenova battle equip the water ring to 1 character let the others die and go make a cup of tea or something and Jenova will run out of MP and will do nothing but sit there.

Closing a gated doorway, and arrowing the butcher to death in Diablo I. There was no other way to beat him if you just happened to open his door and he decided to chase you. xD
You could also get him stuck in the stairs going down to Level 3.

Morrowind or Ultima 9, if you're persistent you can cross mountain ranges that are supposed to keep you hemmed in... and those games don't follow the same all-world scaling as Oblivion, so breaking the map meant you were surrounded by high level enemies. Also, the NPCs in Morrowind don't check to make sure you've followed the main storyline so you can pick it up half-way through...

So I was playing Borderlands with my boyfriend, and we were doing the Rhino-thing in the arena. We both played as Lilith, and one of us was dead, while the other did the invisible thing, so the rhino thing jumped out of the arena, charged towards the respawner, who then overran it with his car...

My friend and his brothers break games so often, we have named the phenomenon after them.

Oblivion was just pitiful. Enemy AI couldn't find their down a chimney. "Up on a rooftop "click" "click", down comes good bladed kicks."
I would have to agree whole hardaly with this, I had a kahjit(no idea if thats how thats spelled) who was specializing in bows and jumping around like crazy monkey so when ever any real fighting started i wold just jump to where the asorted bad guys couldn't get me and just pick away

not exactly the most exciting way to do battle but it got the job done
Have to add a couple of things to oblivion- The whole cloning items glitch just made me laugh. Infinite money for killing one person. Oh, and beating the main story just after leaving k'vatch by climbing into the temple from the outside.

Good times...

Oh, and how could I forget:

the 100% Chameleon thing totally breaks the game. You can shank an enemy in the back 5 times with 100% Chameleon and he'll dismiss it as being the wind, even as you mock him in the voice of TF2's Spy. Or maybe that last part is just me...
No it's not just you.

Ah haha, nice. Got any good ones to share?
My friend jumped through a wall of a building into the next room and melee my other friend in the back, then his brother shot a rocket and it pulled a 180 in midair to hit me.

If its in the game, then its what i like to call 'creative gaming'.

My favourite one was on FFXII, you could give players buffs to raise attack speed, melee dmg etc. What they forgot about was the bonuses from the beserker debuff. Lose complete control of that character but upped attack power and speed.

I would buff the rest of my team up then beserk them and watch carnage ensue. Attacks that took 3 seconds to charge took less than a second now, and hit for 5 times as much. Oh it rained blood.

I would start on fallout 3 and oblivion, but really who hasnt broken them? Its like shooting fish in a barrel, only easier.

Haha really? Hmm, that's good to know. I tend to play Diablo 1 again every now and then just to relive the memories. :D
I still play it frequently, getting an IPX/SPX client to work over Windows 7 and Vista is hell though.

I never use glitches to break games, I find it un-sports-man-like.

However, I often do everything in my power to demolish a game if there's any possibility for it. I've demolished Oblivion several hundred different ways, and also become fairly close to invincible in Star Wars: KOTOR.

I can't really think of any other examples though...

was going to say I don't do it, but then I thought of Super Metroid. I get some upgrades (like wave) and got some ways to kill some of the bosses without being hit. So I had to pick yes, since SM is pretty much the only game except maybe Mass Effect 2 that I have played several times over.
