I feel that Shepard should die.

And no, I don't think it's cliche at all. I also feel that a lot of people throwing around that word don't really understand the true meaning of it as well.

To really get the full effect of how bad the Reaper invasion is, and to understand the true cost of victory, I feel that Shepard should die - or at least there should be some kind of way he should die. Having him live through that when he's the central figure of it all wouldn't really feel right to me.

I know a lot of you guys want those fairy tale endings of him just living old and marrying their romance interest or something, but I don't think Shepard is meant to die in such a simple way, but instead die in a war that could determine the fate of the universe.

Obviously by the end you either live or die, Bioware leaves the choice to you.
This. I don't thing that there will be one ending to the series, But i bet there will be a lot of sacrifices involved, you already had to follow guides to keep everyone alive and even then i somehow managed to kill Mordin.
fucking this (except for not mordin, every single time i ran the mission someone fucking randomly would die and i wouldn't see it till the very end with the coffin in the ship, otherwise everyone was in tip top shape through every cutscene)

bioware is known by now for making multiple endings in every fucking game, so why would they not finish out their quite possibly most epic game thus far with it?

I have a feeling there won't be a canon ending, it could go both ways.

It will probably end with Shepard having to choose to sacrifice himself or whatever team-mates he's shagging.
I think it will be more along the lines of save Earth, or the Citadel.

I think I get what your saying because Shep cant just fly off into the sunset really. It would make more sense if he died and they made like a huge memorial to him like something like in Halo 3.
Exactly what I meant. The ending of Halo wouldn't have been half as good if Chief had made it back to Earth.
have you not seen...

master chief was KNOWN for being the luckiest son of a ***** in the universe, if he says he was gonna make it, then hell you better put every last penny you have on him making it.

I want the possibility of dying maybe even failing to stop the reapers or having a race or two extinct but not have them be absolute ending just possibilities

Fuck Shepard, I never liked the monotone jerk. It's time for this series to be about the real hero of the story.

If they ever do make a game about Garrus, it needs to include a calibration minigame, as well as a rocket launcher he calls "The Calibrator".

...wait up.....ow, ShePard.
Yeah, he dies.

And we play Garrus's Reach and Flexibilty Training,
prolly a Kinect title.

I think that shepard will die in the last cut scene but its going to be one of those good job you savd the day and some one you pissed off assasinates you while your on the toilet or while eating your cake. My thoughts would be you only get this ending if you punched that journalist. If you didn't punch her you get to have your cake and eat it :p

I'd like shepard to go out with a bang. I just don't think bioware has the balls to do that. It would anger too many fans and so most likely Shepard will live

No. It would make for a "Oh, look at our totally original and edgy and tragic ending"

It's boring and it's stupid. Plus, they could also solve that problem by simply not having him appear. Blam.

That seems uneccasry. I mean that would kind of break all the immersion mass effect had been building wouldn`t it? also building a new charecter would be quite a pain, no?

The quicker they kill off this series the better... Because I just haven't touched ME2 in ages and every other RPG I regularly play. Like seriously do you lot remember when Mass Effect was showing it's innovative ViDocs as those the game was going to define the new range of options in RPGs? Now the game has gone so shooter and there are so many less variations of outcomes and different terms of events when you don't get to scale up your abilities like you used to and then own in the second playthrough.

Just don't like the series anymore and I would love for Shepard to die at the end of it saving the universe from total overkill by overcompensating shellfish with Stargate SG-1 enemy styled voices. As much as I was sick of all the dumbass other characters and they're "apparently perfectly justified" problems I was so pissed off with Shepard not just being captain badass commander like he used to be.

Anyway I wouldn't want BioWare to continue on with this and just go into something else.

EDIT: Just to say Bioware... That whole "get your ship and crew ready or it'll be a different story when you venture into collector space" is just dumb... There was no point in doing that because it's not really a different turn of events because you just end up getting owned... That's not interesting, that sucks.

Seriously though (actually I'm also pretty damn serious about Garrus as main), fuck Shepard. Usually the harder you try to make someone likable, the less likable they turn out to be.

Shepard is suppose to embody everything that's right about humanity. As an RPG character and as the main, he/she's our alter ego, how we would represent ourselves in the ME universe. Instead what we got was a bland sawdust in its veins excuse for the everyday man/hero/perfect super soldier. Bioware tried too hard to have him/her represent so much and they ended up failing miserably (my opinion) on all accounts.

You see, I bet in ME1 Bioware was hoping we'd grow most of our attachment to Kaiden and Ashley, hence why they were the romantic interest of the game. But Bioware was strangely surprised how that failed and how the majority of fans ended up liking Garrus, Wrex (who they tried to kill off...assholes), and Tali instead.

Now we're stuck with Shepard until ME3, but after that I really don't want to see his ass anymore.

A Hero dying at the end of a story is considered cliche. Though with the way Bioware writes lately, I would not put it past them. Even I have my main character dying at the end of a Trilogy, but at least I turn him into an omn- I'VE SAID TO MUCH!
