Okay. So they let their kids play M rated games that on the back I know has "Strong Language" under why, and yet they are mad for you cursing? What the six year olds can violently murder zombies but can't hear bad words? That's an odd dichotomy there.

I mean I understand parents not wanting their kids to play M rated games. I'd prefer it over the annoying pre-pubescent little jackwagons you have to mute on XBL because they won't shut-up, but you can't try to give them an M rated game (especially online) and try to censor the content.

Anyway half way thru i said to him 'Dude SHUT UP' And he RAGED HARDCORE and all of a sudden he starts crying hear someone in the background don't know who most likely Mum.

So this Women who i believe to be the Mum. i said 'Madam Your Child has been Swearing and Being a Racist.'

But Srsly Parents just need to be more aware and for people like The Mum or the kid they deserve a punch in the face. Its like if i met a Stranger for the first time i don't be a Bellend to him i try to be Reasonable as i tried with this Mum. I say things like 'oh that's terrible' and 'what a bad mother' but then I look fondly back on all the GTA I played as a young teen and go 'Hmm, do I think my Mom's a bad parent?'

That being said, GTA is just killing pixles and driving fast cars, as a kid I was far more likely to play the taxi / firetruck game cause that's what I found the most fun. I think the irresponsiblity comes in when they decided to let their kids play online with others - kids can handle a lot more than we think, go rewatch the Animals of Farthing Wood - the animals were murdering the hell out of each other and kids were cool with it. So yeah, the mother was an idiot but I think in terms of rating it's a judgement call on what you think your kid can understand / take - just don't inflict them on others.

Any parent who will unknowingly let their child play a more mature videogame is a FUCKING IDIOT and a bad parent to boot.

It's their fucking job as a parent to monitor and regulate this kind of activity in the same way you would a film.

Not necessarily. I played GTA3 through to 4 when I was a kid and so did my brother. We both play Call of Duty too, among others. Neither of us has been negatively affected by playing the games because we're smart enough to understand that's all they are. Being a liberal parent doesn't make you an idiot. What defines the difference is the idiots blame negative behaviour on others and don't remove the problem. My parents let me and my brother play them because they trust us to make the distinction between games and reality. If my brother was to suddenly start beating people up and trying to recreate GTA then they'd not let him play it again.

OT: Yes, they are idiots. As said in the above segment they aren't smart enough to realise that they're the ones who are voluntarily exposing their children to things and then blaming it on others. If they felt that it was to negatively affect their children then they should admit to their failings and improve on that. But, they didn't, they blamed you for something that you didn't know about. They are therefore dipshits and are one of the worst types of person.

If a parent (or parents) think a child can handle the content and are OK with letting them play an adult-themed then I don't see anything wrong with it. Ah yeah, I see that now. My mind must have skipped it out when I read it leading me to think you were saying any child playing a game rated older than they are had bad parents. My apologies. There was rarely anything better than stealing a taxi right next to a police station and then running over the old men in the tunnel for molotovs to then be shot by police and start it all over again. Man my childhood ruled.
