I don't even see the point of putting wolves on the list; they're everything BUT pests =/ Anyways, I'm narrowed down to two choices (three if I was allowed to include humans =P ) and that would be between mosquitoes and cockroaches.

For god's sake man, he's basically asking which one you hate most. I know it's hard, but this requires a bit of imagination.[footnote]I am disappointed, Rob. See me after class.[/footnote]
No he is not. If he was, he ought to ask it outright instead of pussyfooting around it.

Oh, that's right. Asking which creature you hate the most is such an easy thread. Rewording it to change the question to make it seem better than it is so more people will look at it is what any competent person would do, after all.

People like you are the reason why humans can projectile-vomit.
People who answer the question they are given and actually think about the implications of it?
I pity the society you live in if thinking induces such a visceral effect.

Mosquitoes... I hate these bastards. Everything else can live, but not them. (I'm also not fond of flying-stinging insects; If I could wipe them all out WITHOUT ecological consequences, I would do it; Easier than that would be to remove this quality from them, but make another so they could still do what they do, just never stinging me again).

Mosquitoes of course.

You want to get rid of cockroaches, a perfectly fine nutritious meal which is basically found everywhere? I prefer roaches over starving anytime.

EDIT:
Oh, and earwigs and silverfish; they creep me out.

Its a fun question for all those worried about wrecking the eco system. Its not like you were just given this sudden power, its a nice a little fantasy. Sigh*

OT: Ants in all forms, they disgust me. Also spiders.

It funny how some people are taking this way too seriously. As for the thread I would get rid of Spiders so that way my fear of them wil be cure! (yeah its a way to cure but who cares?!)

I voted to end Mosquitoes, but I'd also probably debatably choose the Candiru Amazon catfish. Though it's an uncommon occurrence, those little b******s will swim up your urethra and hook their whiskers so they stick into your weiner.

It'd never happen to me because I don't ever plan on urinating in the Amazon River, but I feel bad for everyone it's happened to and will ever happen to.

I realize I am just picking at details, but if one doesn't care about the details, one cannot care about the basics.

Bees are not pests no matter what you argue. They may be annoying at times, but they only sting you when you provoke them, and are extremely harmless extremely important insects. Anyone who would want the destruction of bees (economical ramifications or not) is an idiot.
Wasps/Hornets kind of fall into the same category as bees, but much less so.
Spiders are just as important as bees, because each spider will destroy 500% of it's body mass in other pests, in the course of a year. Economical ramifications or not, spiders are still awesome and very important.
lol, Ants? Really? I'm not even going to say why ants are important, because if you don't know, you are officially a retard.
Snakes/Caterpillars/Worms/Leeches: lol, same as ants, you're an idiot if you want to purge these animals from the earth.
Foxes/Wolves/Dingoes/Stray Cats/Stray Dogs/Wild Pigs: Now thats just silly.

Where is the elephant group? I don't like elephants. They are pests!
Where is the stray horse group? They are so annoying!

No matter what, by including "WITHOUT ANY ECOLOGICAL RAMIFICATIONS" in the topic, you are pretty much asking people "what animals do you really hate?" and that is just a stupid question altogether.

But there's just so freakin' many different ones that I hate...

Can we exterminate internet trolls?

if it has to be an animal I guess ants. Screw ants.

The people who are whining about the "ecological ramification" You are no fun.

Hell, how about they just get this nasty need to stay teh hell away from people and we never ever run into them? Every other animal in teh world still sees them and eat them and whatever, but humans aren't botehred by them. What a concept, rgiht? This is a hypothetical question and pretentious tree huggers who think they're smart are really annoying.

Mosquitoes, but you bastard

Huntsmans and snakes are not for killing

But yeah, mosquitoes. I like dingos, I like most spiders and snakes, I like termites and ants.

But fuck mosquitoes. There is nothing good about them.

Except that they feed dragonflies, which are other animals of awesome.

I agree with you entirely, but as OP stated, it's beside the point.

BUT THEN YOUR POST REMINDED ME OF HOW AWESOME DAVID ATTENBOROUGH IS AND HOW MUCH I LOVE PLANET EARTH/THE LIFE OF MAMMALS/THE BLUE PLANET

your post is like

OT: Yeah, it's a bit of a silly question... except that the removal of mosquitoes is entirely plausible. I mean, dragonflies also eat midges, who aren't incredibly annoying. They're low enough on the food chain that almost all their extinction would cause is the removal of some diseases.

...Right?

~~~EDIT~~~
I forgot to mention that I love bees. Bees are really awesome.
No real mystery as to what creature needs to go away.
The human female. Biggest pest there is, and if it can be done without any ramifications other than malls going out of business, then good riddence.
Jesus Christ, what?
Seriously, how did you arrive at that conclusion? That is just so freaking messed up I can't even
~~~EDIT~~~

Note how I repeatedly edit my post as new posts worthy of reply appear to avoid double-posting.
This is neater and you should all learn from me.

In my case it's clearly Mosquitoes. I hate those little pests. In summer they always get into my room and whenever I hear a mosquito in the night, I can't sleep until I get rid of it. There are nights when I can't fall asleep at all.

why is it so hard to think about which one annoys tou the most without thinking of the implications, we all know that it would be a big deal if you where to get rid of one,
OT: I chose bees and wasps, god damn i hate those creepy stingers

Ok. Here's the scenario.

You've been granted the power of life and death over any one "category" (not getting into scientific debates here regarding genus and species) of common household pest.
You have the ability and opportunity to exterminate the entire planetary population of whichever pest you choose, and permanently remove it from the face of the Earth, all in the blink of an eye, at no resource, manpower or monetary (OR ENVIRONMENTAL!) cost whatsoever.

Which do you choose?

.
.
.
.
.

As for me...

Cockroaches...

I kill Huntsman spiders with my thong, I kill soldier ant nests with poison (and sand, I just love kicking it in and filling them up), I kill rats with a wooden sword I crafted, I use my sister's squash racquet to kill flies (not that she knows :p ), I rip up entire carpets to kill millipedes, I use my car to kill snakes (where applicable), and I once removed half-a-dozen bricks from a wall just to get at a single pregnant Redback and her web...

But cockroaches... Fuck them. Fuck them all. The disgusting little shit-trekking, disease-carrying, mush-filled bastards are everywhere! You can't even squash them without spreading eggs!...

Jesus Christ, do I hate those fucking cockroaches.

.
.
.

PS: "Human" is not a valid answer. Let's all avoid trying to be witty and edgy for once.

.

EDIT 1: FFS, can we all stop whining about "delicate ecosystems" and "playing God"? If I'd wanted complaints, I would have opened with a racist joke.

EDIT 2: Remember, you're only choosing one category. The categories are grouped together because I ran out of poll options. Choosing "Mosquitoes" does not make you a Bee-hater!

Mosquitoes. Replace them with another tiny insect that doesn't camp near my computer, waiting for me to sit down so it can stealth some of my blood away, fly around in front of my face mockingly, deftly avoiding my frantic attempts to swat it down and hiding for an hour so it can come back and do it again.

Without any moral questioning, or hesitation; Spiders. Fuck 'em.

Creepy bastards*.

*Simply describing them as anything else, or just plain describing them (i.e. number of legs...*shudders*) makes me cringe and need to wash. Fuck arachnophobia.

What stray cats and dogs are pests?? *cries*

OT: Mosquitoes, my back yard is a haven for those things because of how it ends up that there's this one small natural pool at the edge of my property.
