I'd like to live forever, living throughout the ages would be faniscating and you'd be able to see the peak of human civilisation.
Lifestyle would also change nothing would be realitive to time, I could take as long as I want to do anything. It would drive you insane after a while, realising that no matter who you know, that person will die before you no one would be able to be a life partner to share you memories and life experiences.
It would be mentally challenging and not many people could keep a sane mind over it, but I would like the comfort of know that I cannot die.
im thinking someone with a sane mind, who lives forever, and cannot be killed by a mortal.. this sounds alot like god. If you can keep a sane and reasonable mind then you are litterally Godlike.

That would just get depressing if I had to live forever. Watch as every spouse I had got old and died but I never did.

"Only the good die young. Therefore immortality is reserved for the greatest of evils." -- Unknown.

Yeah, I don't think I'd like to live forever.

Yes I would. Sure there would be up and downs but, you live forever! Imagine what you could accomplish. Without a second of hesitation, I would.

Everyone bitches about eternal life, how much it'd suck. Fuck those guys, I'm gonna live forever.

(you know, it's funny I should find this thread just after watching Interview with the Vampire lol, I still stand by my decision)

Living forever would get boring after a millenia. There would be nothing new to do and everything would get boring after a while.

I dunno, death is something I'm looking forward to, really. Not that I'd prefer to speed its arrival, but I'm always looking at the end of my life. Don't know what I'd do if there was nothing to look at.

I would only agree to that if I did allways stayed at my physical peak, if you still aged I would decline since that its pointless living all this time if you just end up being some bones cover in some flesh and your brain being so old and turned into mush that it can barely comprehend what is going on.

Nah. I don't think I could stand being alive forever with all the crap that would go on in terms of society.

I would undoubtebly take the choice to live forever. The uncertainty of death scares me like nothing else. Also, to solve the problem of watching everyone I love die form age, I DO have eternity to figure out how to dupelicate my fortuitous circumstance. And considering I know of only one person I'd want to keep alive, we could live together until the end of time ^^

Edit: I assume eternal youth is also accounted for, seeing as if not, you'd eventually just decompose, thus not living forever.

Would you be just immortal as in not dying of old age and sickness, or also impervious?
meaning could you kill yourself after a few hundred years if you became boored, or frustrate dover the fact that even senior citizens looek dat you as an old perverted pig when you tried to hook up with them, cause they weren't even half your age.

So if i could choose to die if i got bored then sure, especially if i didn't get old and sick.

I'd choose to live forever, simply for the experience of becoming completely sane.

It's a given that you live long enough and you'll go insane. I want to know the feeling of living long enough after that to go sane.

I would absolutely choose to live forever. When asked this question five years ago, I would have said "Hell, no!", but these days I look at how much I screwed up my life, and would kill for the chance for a do-over. Being able to live forever means you get as many chances to reinvent yourself as you want!

the perfect choice would be immortality with a way to choose to die (ie a possible out)
but from these, living forever FTW

I used to think that immortality would be such a curse, but the more I think about it, the more appealing it seems. I may just be masochistic here, but the amount of raw emotion one would accumulate over the ages seems strangely enticing.

Oh how I crave eternal existance.
I can see it now; spending the first few thousand years perfecting genetic and cybernetic sciences, the knowledge from which I would use to upgrade myself.
(I would then hide in deep space and commit galactic genocide every five thousand years, for kicks of course.)
(Furthermore: Hello Escapist, I didn't see you there.)
