Let's say you have been sentenced to death, but the judge is merciful enough to allow you to choose how you shall be executed from a list, what would you choose?
Personally, I would choose beheading. Quick, painless, although crude. I couldn't stand the sight of a firing squad before me, or the anxiety of lethal chemicals running through my veins.

Painless? No. Quick? Relatively. You know the typical image of the head being shown to the crowd? Well the executioner is actually showing the crowd to the head, as it remains conscious for a few seconds.
I'll take the anesthesia and lethal injection, please.

Nobody dies of old age. It's always liver failure, heart attack, stroke, cancer etc... We just label it 'old age' so it sounds better.

Once people realise they are actually going to die 'of something', (and 'old age' is not an option), they often re-evaluate their life style and health choices so they die of something less painful.

I would want something dramatic, like going out by firing squad in the middle of town. I may psychologically scar some people but they would hate my executioner, not me.

Actually, there's something to be said for firing squad. Not always completely instant, but they do aim for the head afterall, and you would be knocked unconscious from the trauma. So probably least painfull.
