No no no no no. I'm not going off to fight your war for you. I would only go if I agreed with the war, otherwise I will just refuse.

Yet one of the poll options is "Already in the army"... wouldn't that be past tense as in "already joined up back in 1965-1972"

Being in the Army in 2010 is pretty irrelevant to a conflict in the 1960's. You're poll is confusing, do you mean if there was conscription today?

And homosexuality won't do any good now, Obama's made sure of that, the Pentagon has said it loud and clear: "you don't have to be straight in the military, just be able to shoot straight"

However, watching Dharma and Greg remains a court martial offence so at least the military isn't that bad :)

If there is an enemy that i am too apathetic to fight, then who the hell is my government to tell me that i should fight them? Especially considering that the fat cats in government, who themselves or their friends, will never EVER go to the war, are the ones that probably started it anyways. Let those who have the stomach to fight, fight. Me, I'll be hiding out somewhere in the Yukon, cause you sure as hell aren't going to get me to fight. Besides, no country would want me as a soldier. The, dropping-gun-and-running-like-hell-with-hands-flailing-above-head-screaming-at-top-of-lungs brand of soldier, is not particularly popular

I'd join for a non-combat role, like in the medical or supplies corp. But I would probably cry all the same.

...Wow. I'm the only one who said Jail. Assuming I was American, I'd just say, 'No thank you. Jail or GTFO.'

They wouldn't draft me. I couldn't even do the mandatory 8 months of service when I turned 18 because of my bad foot. Can't run, can barely drive and they've got enough desk-studs already.

If I could pass the entrance tests, I'd join either as a Contentious Objector, or be a Chaplain. I'm already an ordained minister.

If I completely ran out of options I would shoot myself in the foot. I'm a pacifist, I could never hurt someone.
Tell that to your foot.

I would laugh at whoever it was that decided to draft a guy with asthma, low muscle tone and aspergus syndrome. Then I would run (but wouldn't get very far for obvious reasons) then maybe cry a bit.

I'm a pasifist, but plan on going into the military as a non-combation. Be a medic or someone who deals with public reltitons with the natives. If i'm going to war I want to say I helped people not hurt people.
Join the German army. They've been in Afghanistan since 2002 but are practically forbidden from leaving their base and have you any idea what kind of tonnage of wine, beer and pastries they get through? In a god damn Muslim country!

Last thing I heard was the typical deployed German soldier was clinically obese compared to the average German civilian who was a healthy weight. So I should fit right in :D

US and UK forces don't have it so easy, no booze (nada, nothing) and I've heard so many horror stories about PT exercises in the Army and Marines... no way, jose. It's the Bundeswehr for me and all the Beer and bacon pastries I can scarf down!

As a Briton, it's unlikely I would be drafted.
If I did though, my reaction would be along the lines of "Really? S--t, oh well, I may as well do my bit, as I don't know that America will lose this war"

If Canada drafted me, I'd high-tail it to the nearest Swiss embassy. Which is 1160km away from where I live, about 12 hours drive. Whatever. I'd be out of this country fast.
