Leg, since prosthetic legs are simpler than arms, and so if he was a pirate he could get a peg-leg.

Arm, because it's much simpler to remove. Three simple cuts from a serrated knife and you're done. Legs, on the other hand, are much more complex, not to mention the vastly tougher muscle which generally makes it a pain to deal with.

(Please don't ask how I know any of this).
how do you know that?

*Sigh* Why isnt there a Both option just so I could be the evil maniac I am?

I would probably choose the leg. Making a... cant find the word for it... replacement leg is easier than an arm

Leg, your hands are used for almost everything these days, and a prosthetic leg does everything a normal leg needs to, a prosthetic arm doesn't have half the functionality of a real one.
Not for long. Getting the power requirements down and the sensory interface worked out are the only real hurdles now. They have attached prosthetic arms to chimps. They even interfaced a perfectly healthy chimp to a robotic arm. It learned to control the extra arm with it's mind alone.

You're asking a gamer community whether they value arms or legs.... Arms, which we need to game, and legs, which are pretty easily replaced (comparatively) and we use for.... um...... Christ, even sex is harder without one arm compared to one leg.

They can choose, I'll cut off that phantom limb for them.
Um...one rule is he can't help you pick
Well thats hardly fair. But alright, their none wanking arm. If I'm going to screw their life up, there's no reason to be cruel about it.

Leg obviously. It's a lot easier to replace a leg than an arm. There are people without two legs that can get fake legs that work just as well, but we're nowhere near a working fake arm.

I'd pick a leg and follow the Meatwad method for causing bodily harm.

"Now Larry, this only gonna hurt for a few seconds...but damn is it gonna hurt."

With todays techonlogy, I'd go with leg amputation. I mean, typing on the keyboard would be a real pain.

When we perfect cyborg technology, I'd rather give up my arm for an awesome bionic arm. Those are awesome.

Arm. I would then commit the rest of my life to making him a, extremely life-like bionic arm. Failing this, I would cut off my own arm and graft it on to him(which would be a challenge considering I'd only have one arm)

The arm. Hey, it's not MINE, and I know how to cauterize that stuff.

Oh, and if you're wondering why not the leg? Ask me again after you've had a broken leg at age nine, three months in the hospital, more months stuck in a bed at home, and still therapy afterwards. Or hell, breaking your leg EVER should explain why I don't make fun of people in wheelchairs.

Now while I would choose the leg I might have a hard time sawing off another man's limb while he's still conscious, I know you say he's asleep but he's gonna wake up once I break the skin and even if he's restrained he's going to be screaming in pain. Honestly I might throw up from sheer empathy.

Even with one leg you are still mobile, plus there are a ton of things you need two working arms to do, so I chose leg.

If he looks like he is a runner, or otherwise really likes his legs for some reason (I'd try to look for signs, however minute they might be), I'd go for the arm. Else I'd remove the leg, for I do assume that most people value their arms more.

Leg...

Prosthetic limbs are simple solutions to this problem.

Think about it, a prosthetic leg only has to hold you up.

Whereas a prosthetic arm would need to be way more complicated that modern prosthetics can handle in order to be an adequate replacement.
