Poll: If Your Significant Other Cheated, Would You Help Raise The Baby

It's a fairly direct question, I just wanted to get a feel for how people here stood on this.

For the men:

If your girlfriend/wife cheated on you, and became pregnant with another man's child (and then told you about it), would you stay with her to help raise the child, or say "to hell with this, you cheating whore"? Would you provide support to another man's progeny, even knowing that it was the seed of your significant other's infidelity, or would you just leave?

Does the gender of the baby influence you?

Does the ability of the father to help raise the child influence you?

For the women:

If your boyfriend/husband cheated on you, and impregnated another woman (who gave birth to a child, and subsequently passed away), would you help raise the child, or would you say "screw you, you cheating bastard" and leave?

Does the gender of the baby influence you?

Does the ability of your prospective ex to raise the child on his own influence you?

I'm male, and for me, I'd be very inclined to say "screw this, I'm gone". A female baby would more persuade me to stay, but even then, I'd be disgusted enough that I would want nothing to do with either of them.

What about all of you?

I would leave. My girlfriend/wife obviously didn't care enough about me to prevent her from cheating. Why would I care about another man's child? His responsibility now.

I voted "Male and leave." More because I couldn't accept the infidelity than anything against the kid.

I'm male, I'd leave, and I would desperately hope that I wouldn't have to pay alimony to that cheating *****.

I would help raise it only if it were my child. I would forive the woman, but i would not continue a relationship with her.

Where's the "I'm a male and I don't want to be reminded of my SO's unfaithfulness" option in the poll?

For me it wouldn't have to do with raising someone else's child, it'd have to do with seeing my partner's failing every time I looked at the kid. No kid deserves to grow up in that. Biased poll is biased.

I don't want to have a child of myself, imagine having of another man.

I accidentally clicked stay, when I would really just leave that whore. I wouldn't care if it was male or female, if the wife didn't care about me, I'm not going to care for that child.

I'd leave.

I have no desire in staying someone who would go behind my back and do something this serious.

If I were already committed heavily to her, then I'd stay. If I hadn't been with her long, then I'd go, it just wouldn't be my problem.

I'd leave, though her being pregnant has nothing to do with it. Cheating is an instant deal-breaker. Now if we had an open relationship and another man got her pregnant because she was being an idiot, I don't think I would have any problems raising the child.

I'd be more confused as to how the hell we got a baby. Did biology just stop working?
