I liked 3 but it did become repetative by the end, and since 4 seems to borrow a lot from 3 I lost a lot of interest.

Borderlands 2 showed me that a sequel simply cant be more of the same, I liked to first one but the second was exactly the same that it was a chore to finish it, me and my co-op buddy had to take a break and play something else, a thing that rarely happens with us.

Dark Souls 2 also gave me that example although the second one isnt exactly the same, it is worse.

I am however still interested in FC4 because of the co-op and because they seem to want to make the open world action more interesting, something that was already very good in 3. The map also seems more interesting, I liked the one in 3 a lot but I must confess that the one in 4 seems to offer more variety, at least in combat situations.

The main protagonist, who was suppose to be a young traveller, instantly had the best skills with weapons. I would rather if they had a level system, where you level up and Jason's skills get better.
I know a lot of people probably wouldnt like it but I would have enjoyed a system like in Mass Effect where at the start you are complete crap in combat and by the end you are the elite soldier you are supposed to be.

I think the start would have been a lot more intense if the fights were a lot smaller (mostly pistols and the ocasional SMG/Shotgun) but also a lot trickier and deadly while by the end of the game the player would feel the ramp up in action with having the more typical Far Cry 3 gameplay with rocket launchers, assault rifles and flamethrowers (this is actually something even Half-Life 2 did, it actually takes some time untill the player gets his hands on the SMG, I even think the shotgun only shows up in Ravenholm, most of the first levels are only the crowbar and the pistol against other enemies with pistols).

The bow could also be the weapon that sticks with the player throughout the entire game, also being one that at the start would require a lot of concentration to pull of the shot well (shaky aim, having to be still for a few seconds to make it easier to aim, being in a crouched position, etc... things that would make the bow take longer to be the instakill weapon that it is)

Wow, I'm actually amazed to see my exact opinion in the poll, thats just swell!

But yeah, ubisoft isn't getting any more of my money. Wouldn't be interested in FC4 anyway though, just not a series I've every gotten into.

I'll probably pick it up when it drops in price. I liked the third game well enough but it lost steam for me after the big climactic event 2/3 of the way through.

For all of Ubisoft's foot in mouth dipshit PR statements I actually am interested in the game, if only because I want to try playing a big budget game where the main character isn't white for fucking once. Far Cry 3 was a pretty good game too, though it got a little stale towards the end, hopefully they figure a way around that.

Farcry 3 would have easily snatched my GOTY for that year had Borderlands 2 never come out. I'm ecstatic about 4 despite WD spitting in my face. Which is easy to make a case for, you line up Black Flag and Farcry 4's development times and WD's announcement and delays, and you find that Ubisoft had to cobble a motley crew together because everyone else was too busy.

Riding elephants, return of the wingsuit, interesting insane guy, and good gun feel since I assume it's running on the same engine. Day 1 purchase for me. Oh yeah, and shooting out the window of your car is pretty cool too.

I'm very excited for it, and I say that as someone who has never really had any interest in the Far Cry games in the past. Something about 4 just has my attention.

I'm very excited for Far Cry 4. Really though, what other first person shooters are coming out that aren't linear to a silly degree like the Call of Duty series? And I'm not sure why people hated Jason from Far Cry 3. He was just a party loving college kid in a bad situation, not sure how that makes him a "wanker".

It looks interesting, but I I'll be waiting until it drops in price or goes on sale. Far Cry 3 was a fun game for about a dozen hours, but just like all other Ubisoft open world games, it overstayed its welcome way too quickly. With that said, though, Far Cry 3 was still one of the most fun shooters of the last few years, so I look forward to having at least a little fun with its sequel.
