Why in god's name would you ever make a purchasing decision based on a single game review website?Whistler777 said:Basically, I'm going to see what IGN thinks about it, then decide. If it gets an 8/10 or above, I'm probably going to buy it.
IGN's more reliable than any other review sites out there I know. Also, I live out in a backwater rural town, with no way to rent games.TOGSolid said:Why in god's name would you ever make a purchasing decision based on a single game review website?Whistler777 said:Basically, I'm going to see what IGN thinks about it, then decide. I read PC Gamer religiously, and even I don't take their word as gospel. At least give the game a rent and get your own opinion about it. Just because they like it doesn't mean you will, and vice versa.
Ouch, and I thought I lived in the middle of nowhere. I really can't blame people for downloading their own 'demos' in instances like that. Just be sure to give Gearbox your money if you like it though!Whistler777 said:IGN's more reliable than any other review sites out there I know. Worst comes to worst, I'll download it and see what I think.
I planned on it. Can't exactly remember what Gearbox has done for me in the past, but I'm certain that they're a good dev.TOGSolid said:I really can't blame people for downloading their own 'demos' in instances like that. Just be sure to give Gearbox your money if you like it though!
There actually are no rare epics that make ur toon look badass. There are no pieces of armor that drop, just a shield that u can equip and then your gun. So you pretty much only have to worry about what guns you will use and your shield.ThatJagoGuy said:I've been scouring the web for comprehensive reviews and have decided that I'll probably buy it when it drops in price. What put me of an immediate purchase was the fact that there is barely any physical character customisation... so you can't run around looking badass in your rare epics... you just look the same as everyone else. Boooo!
Ya but the story is rather weak from what ive heard. Its not gonna stop me from getting it cause I want to kill some baddies and get some phat loots!Booze Zombie said:On Justin.tv, there's a fellow called Brandon505 who's playing the game rather obsessivly and recording every moment of it.
The game begins slow and starts to pick up an hour or two in, like most RPG games.
It uses a quest based system, there's loads of areas, guns and enemies.
Not to mention it's got style and a story.
This really.MetallicaRulez0 said:I have watched most of the videos and interviews out for it, and I still barely understand what the game is. So... I really don't know.
It's built primarily as an FPS, with some lighter RPG elements thrown in. It's obviously important to develop your characters skills and to make sure you've got decent equipment, but how well you do is going to be decided by how good a shot you are. There are no dice rolls for hitting enemies, if your crosshair is on them, you're going to hit.clicketycrack said:This really.MetallicaRulez0 said:I have watched most of the videos and interviews out for it, and I still barely understand what the game is. Is the game an FPS? And if it is, is it a real FPS like Painkiller or COD or is it like Fallout 3 where you're only about 1 out of every ten of your bullets are actually going to find something fleshy unless you throw in you turn-based-combaty thing?
I'm probably just going to wait for some reviews.
