I screwed up. I voted immortality before noticing I die at the end of the year of happiness. Well still... tough choice. Might go with immortality. Forever is a long time to make up for 1 year of happiness :p

Allthough I think immortality could be nice, there is still the problem:

Is it also eternal youth? Because I'm not keen on lieing in a hospital bed for thousands of years with my bones being nothing more than dust, my inner organs failing and Alzheimer making my brain useless - just keeping the status of "living" because of this wish.

Immortallity. Id become a one-man army. Id concure the world and take on America single-handed.

I think with immortality there would be potential of happiness but to be honest I just don't want to live forever. The only choice that makes sense for me is a year of happiness. Oh yea, and I like bacon.

Well, I'm of the belief that there isn't anything after death, so I'm going to go with immortality (providing it is the invincible kind where you can heal from literally everything, and of course, providing it doesn't mean I age for all eternity, just stop me at about 25-ish and I'll be good). I just think that one year of happiness is all well and good, but if you have the option of never dying, and therefore having the potential of infinite happiness, I'd take that.

Who would be happy knowing they have a year to live?

Immortality all the way. Eventually I'd go insane, so it wouldn't matter.

EDIT: and anyways, FMA/LotR ftw, I'll have kids to keep me company...huh, that'd be one hell of a family tree in a couple hundred years.

Immortality.

I get to see the end of the world! The end of the universe even, if planet/sun death and vacuum don't kill me.

EDIT: comma FTW

I would choose the one year of hapiness (and hope that I then die in a blaze of glory).

Immortality would be torture, living on endlessly after everyone you know has snuffed it would be crap. Just imagine watching all your decendents die off while you live on.

immortality, but only if i could bring someone along for the ride.
for immortality without anyone to share it with would drive anyone mad, no matter the strenght of mind.

If it was true immortality like nothing can kill you, I'm in. I'd join the army and become the ultimate weapon. Also i'm gonna add that you don't age past 20 cause if you aged all the time then it wouldn't be immortality. Don't ask why it wouldn't be, it just wouldn't

So I was thinking. If you were forced to choose between a Year where EVERYTHING goes right for you. As in, No one will EVER be as happy as you in that one year EVER, but you die in the end. or complete and Utter Immortality where everything....goes "Ok" at best. Not that the Immortality choice means a crap shack life, but that it's average, and completely eclipsed by the other choice.

Me, i guess i'm going with the first choice. The One year of Happiness.

EDIT: Clarification. The Definition of Immortality is that you can't off yourself, just to make it clear.

EDIT 2: You're quite welcome to play around with the term "Everything goes right for you". Except you can't rally pick a third Option. Such is the Word of God.
considering how the last few years have been absolute shit, i think that the one year of happiness would be nice, so long as at day 366, things dont fall apart instantly.

Year of happiness by a mile.
Honestly, that fits my ideal life pretty well.
Enjoy the time I have as best I can, then see what/ if anything happens next. Or just haunt the hell out of someone for giggles.

YoH just means I enjoy that time even more, and can be on my way.

Immortality, hands down. One year where EVERYTHING goes right for me? That wouldn't be very interesting now would it, knowing that everything I do would go a certain way (a good way, but still). I've always found REAL happiness in uncertainty. Also, I wouldn't wanna die at the end of that year, there's still so much to learn, so many places to go to and people to talk to. Immortality would give me all the time I want, and seeing as the human race evolves everyday, there wouldn't be one uninteresting moment.

Plus, seeing the sun explode would be FREAKING AWESOME.
