Definatley the one year of happiness. Because if it's as you describe it, then what a year!

I can imagine immortality being great at first, but you'd never die.. There would inevitably come a point where you just got sick of it.

immortality sounds nice...where is the fineprint? do i become a skeleton after 150 years? do i lose all my fingers? or is it service in the name of lucifer for ever?

One year of happiness, then i would begin experimenting on how to achieve immortality.

By your definition everything goes right for me so i would work it out and become immortal.

And of course i would give the secret to friends and family.

every man dies, but not every man really lives...

Immortality is the one true thing I want in life. My only true fear is death.

If I were immortal, it really wouldn't be that bad, as I tend to have quite stoic beliefs. Hell, if I could never die, I may even become a 'sage'.

For me, knowing you'd die at the end of it would kinda ruin the one year of happiness. So I'mma with Bacon. Bacon never lets you down.

If I can't top myself, one year of happiness. If I couldn't kill myself I'd have a regular life; immortality when everyone else is dead is not cool.

I dislike it when there is a pointless 3rd choice on the poll., but nevermind.

Immortality. Happiness is what you make of it, and I wouldn't need a wish to experience it.

Plus you can get a year of bliss by just doing enough drugs to kill a non-immortal, so yeah.

I choose being immortal for the simple fact you could spend forever making sure no one EVER had a perfect year of happiness before they died. Sure that makes me sound like a cruel bastard, but it would really even out the playing field against all the suckers who chose to have the one year of happiness. What if the person who chose immortality was the one who was assigned to be the one to kill you when your year was up? Ohhhhhh... they could really make you wish you picked the immortality. How nice of you to have lived a perfect year, only to get teabagged and tortured for that one last day.

Also, if you chose immortality, eventually I think you could figure out how to become a Highlander. I know, I know... you have to be BORN a Highlander. I'm sure there is a loophole there somewhere, and if you had eternity to figure it out, I'm willing to bet that you could.

One year, simply because the other choice is immortality. The pain you would experience from being immortal just wouldn't be worth it. I mean, think about it, your family and friends would die, but you would make new friends eventually. Then they would die. And so on. You either live life as a recluse or see everyone you've ever known die before you.

hmmm tough call. But the dying at the end of the one year was the deal breaker. I would take imortality. Mainly because Im a missionary, and having that much time to help people would be a plus. Now about the whole getting bored to death thing: Its a big world, contrary to the old saying, and there is a lot you can do in one life, and barely scratch the surface. Im kinda used to seeing people come and go, I moved around a lot as a kid and have had to start over plenty of times, so I guess it wouldnt affect me as much as it might others.

In my one year of ultimate happiness a bunch of aliens(time travelers or whatever) come to earth give me a time machine and time freezing machine at which point i go to the future and make the universe in my image for as long as i like with the help of the time freezing machine and when i'm finally bored of it i'll just turn it off and die a happy death. In your face immortality.

Since EVERYTHING will go my way during the one year i am going to invent a machine to make the one year last forever.

Find a minor or developing civilization and teach them everything you know so you can start the cycle again.
