I say the geth should be the next species to join the council, and I nominate the programs collectively know as Legion

I was going to say Humans but I will assume this poll takes place after the Reaper invasion with everyone not dying.

Anyway: After Humans join up, I think Quarians would get it. I say this because I would think The Geth (after a civil war of sorts) would end up joining the other organic races to defend against the Reapers. Since The Geth were made by the Quarians, I think the council would take whoever does the most to aid the main races in the war against The Reapers. Of course, by this strain of logic, The Rachni could be included in the Council.

Also: If The Volus don't get on, they will likely try to rise up and attack other Citadel races. It would result in a very entertaining war, I think. If The Rachni join, then The Krogan could rebel due to bad blood and start another war with the citadel races. It would be cool if The Geth were given a seat on the council but, many people would distrust them: especially the Quarian unless of course something big happened between them.
Humans have Udina or Anderson, depending on who you roll with.

I'd say either the Quarians or the Geth. Or both. It'd be interesting, that's for sure.
Especially seeing as I pushed the Quarians for peace and switched the Geth to "peaceful" mode. lol.

I'd always thought the Elcors seemed clear headed and trustworthy. Political meetings would take forever though.

If you did have a Reaper council member they'd have to be constantly straddling the giant Citadel penis where the Council Meets are held and whose name I forget, where it can also take control of all the Citadel's systems.

Turian Council Member: I propose we make a tax on all incoming Reaper ships, as they're rather big.
Reaper Council Member: MRAAAAAAAAWWWWWWRRRRRRR!!!! *turns off life support*
Turian: *choking* or... not... *dies*
Reaper: mraaar!

The Volus. Can't believe you missed them...

While they can't offer any martial might, the fact that they practically run the financial sector in citadel space but can't decide policy seems completely wrong to me. They have the most to offer the rest of the galaxy, easily.
I've updated it to include the volus k :)

I want to see the reapers join the council.

That would certainly cause a few shenanigans.
Ah yes, "Reapers". The immortal race of sentient starships whose ambassador is sitting in that seat over there. We have dismissed that claim.

The Elcor and the Hanar definitely.
They are my favorite alien species out of the ones that don't have a seat.
You just can't hate those big stupid jellyfish.

Yeah, I'm thinking the Quarians would be a bad idea, seeing as they'd probably just push to get a full-scale invasion of the geth going, as opposed to actually helping anyone else.

Shepard's on it, no need to worry, Quarians.

I think the council's fine the way it is.

Personally, I'd kick the current alien council out and replace them with Mordin, Wrex, Anderson, and Garrus. No Asari. They may live for a thousand years, but I have yet to meet a single one who wouldn't be a total ***** on the council, or that would be in a better position doing something else. Maybe old Liara...

Also, I would add an Elcor to make five. Sorry, Quarians, but I gotta prioritize.
I find Your Council to be complete and utter win.
When the Reapers come in and blast everything to utter hell, I want the chance to secretly replace the members of the Council with these members. It would be an awesome upgrade after all the shit I had to take from the previous Council (excluding Anderson of course).

Krogan, let's assume that Wrex (or Wreav, but c'mon... Wrex is better) actually can help his people, and stabilize the homeworld. The Krogan help provide a big burly walking meat-shield presence against the Reapers and then Wrex (or Wreav) joins the council.

The Volus do help the galaxy run smoothly, even if they can't fight for shit.

Reapers: I think we can all safely say this won't happen ever.
I don't know, considering it's basically just like the UN, the Reapers will probably be given a council seat to see THEIR side of the issue on the whole galactic extinction thing.
