Now, I don't watch movies. I don't watch anything.
TV is for squares, man, I don't do that. I play vidja gaems, read books and write my own stuff.
When I hear about a good movie, I think "Lol, how much'd they pay you to write a review that positive?", or "Eh, I'll watch it on DVD".
Therefore is was so odd of me to- upon hearing about Inception -head off to the cinema as soon as possible.
Why? To be frank, I'm going to blame it on pas experiences. Every action film I've seen in the last three years has been mindless, cheap and stuffed full of overpaid "celebrities" trying to pretend they're half interested in what they're doing. For a while, I've thought that is the basic description of a modern film. Flashy, expensive and not worth the loud mouth prats at the back throwing popcorn in your hair.
Yet, Inception came along and managed to make me think otherwise. Maybe it's just because I don't eatch films, maybe it's because it was balls-out brilliant.
What is there to say that hasn't already been said? It was- is an amazing experience. The cinematography is amazing, the acting is some of the best I've seen all year and it was a good ol' fashioned romp through the subconcious. I suppose it did have one fault, and that was primarily my fault. I expected it to really fuck with my mind. It didn't. While an amazingly complex motion picture, I was expecting it to go into further detail.
I suppose those are naggling inconsistencies that aren't really inconsistent.
So yeah; Inception. One of the best films I've seen in my entire life.
