I want to see a Wermacht soldier killing endless amounts of people on film and not be portrayed as evil just because he's on the German side.

Yes I said it.

Not not? Double negative? Are you trying to trick us?

I haven't seen it yet, I really want though.

More like Inglourious Bas-turds. It was aweful, the plot was shit, and the one actor that was anygood was the German guy (who got a oscar) and the pace was slower than a deer with no legs.
Pretty much this. I see a ton of movies a year because my friend is the manager of the local theater and I get in for free a lot. I wanted to walk out of quite a few movies last year, Observe and Report being the worst...only after this movie...which was one I actually had to pay for. I was bored out of my skull!

I'm holding up District 9, The Dark Knight and Inglorious Basterds up to my screen right now. Hoping that the ability to tell what constitutes a good film will travel through the interwebs straight to you.

It was slow, boring, and awful. Terentino (I know I'll be flamed for this lol) Needs to stop making films and go to a part of the world so we can forget he exists.
The only thing I give it credit for, is doing the same thing "Valkyrie" did....keeping it so they didn't succeed in killing Hitler.

I like the visual style. It was unique, a bit eclectic, but made sense. I'm on the fence about the writing but good or bad it was just an enjoyable film. So what if it messes with history? It tried it's hardest to be good anyway.

The dessert scene is where I lost hope and almost walked out. I mean c'mon, they are sitting there forever waiting for something dessert related, and she has her panties in a twist (which is understandable). The point being, I'm just sitting there while they wait for dessert, and I'm not feeling suspense. Nothing even happens on the subject of "yous be a Jew and I's be some crazy Nazi guy that wants to finish the job I started early in this movie". That scene is where I gave up.

...And don't call it plot development, because nothing else on that subject happens again for the rest of the movie. My friend uses that one.
Wait, are you serious? That was the the most suspenseful part of the movie. It's not obvious whether or not Landa recognises Shosanna, and he forces her to keep up the charade of being who she says she is, even while doing things that are calculated to remind her of the death of her family (ordering fresh cream with dessert directly parallels getting a glass of milk from the farmer, etc). He doesn't have to come out and shriek "YOU'RE A JEW!" in her face; the subtlety and cruelty are what make the scene work.

I really liked it. The story was good and the acting was excellent, even though it was slightly historicly inaccurate.

And next time you make a poll, don't try to confuse people with a double negative. That's cheating.

I keep giving Tarantino a chance, and he keeps pushing out movies that only move me off the couch to turn it off.

I think it might annoy the OP a little to learn that this thread has made me want to watch the film.

The Basterds fail their plan.!
Umm,no they din't.They were able to make go on through with is till the end.

OT:I fricking loved it.I saw it in the theaters on the last showing,so there weren't many people there. And it was awesome.
I loved the fact that english was actually the third most spoken language in the film. And S.S. Col. Hand Landa was the best movie character of '09 in my opinion.

I made it that way because I didn't actually expect it to get more than 50 posts, I was expecting like 5. It was just to satisfy my bitchy friend. But I do like that it caught on. [:

They had to improvise, they killed Hitler after just forsaking the plan. Thems two guys got caught and office man scalped him later (which I liked). But yeah, they failed the original plan.

Your question is posed rather backwards.

I liked it, a lot.
One of Tarintino's best.

The introduction made the movie for me. I want that to happen for me whenever I walk into a room.

I liked it a lot and I own it, but I can't bring myself to watch it for a fifth time because it's too long.
