Iight, this is only because my friend won't stop bitching about it. He keeps telling me to make this thread so I am. Do you like Inglorious Basterds? I say no. The plot development takes way too long and it results in nothing elaborate. Shosanna or Soshanna doesn't get killed by that guy from the beginning. The Basterds fail their plan. It may be somewhat of a comedy, but I didn't laugh, I just viewed it as stupid, now I'm going to make this a poll and you will agree that the movie sucks solely because I want to tell him that I win. Now vote damn-it!!

...It appears I unintentionally confused some people. Not not means yes because they cancel. So Yes means you hate it, No means you like it.

Solid film, well acted. Silly, but with several scenes that carried incredible tension despite the premise.

Well written, well directed.

I really liked it. I am a huge Tarantino fan, and I would say he really did well with Basterds. His best? No. Nothing, Tarantino or not, tops Pulp Fiction in my eyes, but it's still a fantastic film. I actually just picked it up on DVD not too long ago.

It was alright, probably not one of my favorite movies but it did keep my attention throughout the entire thing

Hate seems a tad strong but I didn't enjoy it. There were funny moments but overall I felt it dragged on way too much. Also the titular basterds seemed to take second stage to 'random blonde chick whose name I forget who happened to run a cinema' which seemed a bit like false advertising to me.

The dessert scene is where I lost hope and almost walked out. I mean c'mon, they are sitting there forever waiting for something dessert related, and she has her panties in a twist (which is understandable). The point being, I'm just sitting there while they wait for dessert, and I'm not feeling suspense. Nothing even happens on the subject of "yous be a Jew and I's be some crazy Nazi guy that wants to finish the job I started early in this movie". That scene is where I gave up.

...And don't call it plot development, because nothing else on that subject happens again for the rest of the movie. My friend uses that one.

Nothing elaborate?
They fucking kill Hitler!

Anyway, yeah. It's one of my favourite movies of all time. It's silly on the surface but has some really deep meaning.

Oh God it was amazing. I guess the humous is an acquired taste but I laughed out loud so many times in the cinema. Tarantino knew exactly what it was that he wanted to do and he achieved it so beautifully! Christoph Waltz absolutely made it for me in the acting department too.

Fucking loved that shit <3

A solid, well-acted cast of characters that were all sadly one-dimensional and never did anything to create that affection that a protagonist needs to win the audience.

I thought it was funny, but for a movie with such an epic story to tell, I just didn't really care that much

I loved it actually. Now stop trying to confuse people to support your cause, that's cheating.
Pretty much this.

Also what do you mean the plot takes too long to develop?

I loved it. It's one of my all time favorites and I think it was almost as good as Pulp Fiction
