I honestly never think about it when considering a date. The most I pay attention to race is for jokes among friends, and sometimes I get a momentary kink fr a certain flavor, but outside of that its a non factor to me.

Something for the puritists
Interbreeding increases genetic purity.

Genes can die out but that only happens by chance.

I personally have no issue with people who date or marry outside their race. I even prefer asian girls myself (the white gene pool probably won't miss me anyway). But my father is extremely biased against white women dating blacks and mexicans, and whenever I see it I can't help but hear his voice in my head, disapproving with strong opinions and generally rude comments. It's damn annoying not being able to overcome what your parents believed, regardless whether you agree or not.

If you two wish to date, then I don't see a problem. Interacial couples have the same right to date one another as anyone else.

Look at it this way. It don't matter if you're black or white. Mexican or Indian. Death is indescriminate. It kills equally (Sort of). In the end, everybody ends up dead. So can't we all just get along?

P.S. It's not racism if you hate everyone equally. Except Canadians (which technically isn't even racism, it's...nation...ilsm,) :p

Ah alright, seems i misunderstood you. Although i'm not sure if swapping the word race for ethnicity will make much difference, they seem to be two different words that mean the same thing. You would have to de-evolve the meaning of ethnicity, blurring social/biological differences in order to make the two words have different meanings. Perhaps towards something like "cultural identity".

This particular site may be on your side, but this site represents a small portion of far left ideals mostly from teenagers who have never experienced life outside of their parents' house.
Treating people as people regardless of skin coloration is hardly something leftists have a monopoly on you know - the far left would just like you to think we're all racist hicks.

Judge a man by his character, not on his colour or creed. That's my motto and in my book interracial relationships are fine. Maybe you should take your problem to John Safran, he could help you ut (LOOK HIM UP!).
How come this is the only mention of John Safran in this thread? In that case I'll link.

That's the homepage for a series that covered this pretty much completely, and humourously. You'll probably be able to find the videos on youtube or something. In particular look for the last ep, where he shows his racist friends how race is completely a construct. With the help of a relative of Bin-laden.

Sort of the point I'm getting at -

Ah, but this is what I'm trying to say. Race as a term is meaningless, it's simply trying to describe what Ethnicity is.

Race was introduced as a means of classification for the different 'breeds' of human. It used things like facial profile, height, and skin colour to organise humans into separate groups. That's exactly what Ethnicity does. The difference is that when race was introduced the means classification also included things like morality, intelligence, and superiority.

Race was a comparison thus wise:-
Prominent facial features;
Skin colour,
Intelligence,
Morality, and
Superiority
all measured relative to the locations where the groups were found.

Ethnicity is based on genetic information measured relatively to location. They serve exactly the same purpose but do it in a different way. Furthermore, one has been abandoned by modern science and the other actually forms a part of our current system of genetic listings.

That really has nothing to do with any of this. we're just talking about interracial relation ships not cultural ones.

Biology has sought to use culture as a means of classifying creatures since... well, race.

I seriously don't mind, I've had attractions to women from pretty much every area of the broad spectrum of humankind. Color of skin or appearance should not matter in the slightest.

20, white male and I couldn't give too fucks. I'm rarely attracted to black or asian girls (there are a handful of notable exceptions) and so as a rule I suppose I'm more likely to go out with someone who's europian looking, but like I said there are exceptions. Oh, also I couldn't give a crap what other people do (copy and paste from my attitude towards heterosexual vs homosexual relationships).

My mum's Chinese. My dad's Anglo. It took ten years for her family to accept that he wasn't just some serial Asian-dater who would divorce her once she started to age. x3
My mom's Korean and my dad's white and he had to go through the same thing. It probably helped that so far my mom is the only one of her siblings who hasn't gotten a divorce.

Considering I'm mixed, of course I'm okay with mixed relationships.

The only time an interracial relationship has made me uncomfortable was the time a friend of mine was dating someone who clearly had a fetish for exotic Oriental lotus blossoms; fortunately she came to her senses pretty quickly and went on to date a lovely non-skeevy (also white) dude.

I'm all for mixed relations.

My family contains so many different "races" that I can't even name them all.
I do not belong to any ethnic group on acount of (literally) being a complete bastard, (biologically speaking offcourse ;) wich I feel absolves me from caring about race/ethnicity.....at all.

OP: I agree: what your friends are saying borders on racism. If they don'y change the way they think I'd go make some new friends if I were you.

Maybe your new girl knows some more openminded people?
