I voted Yes.

vCoD/CoD:UO were the best of the series. It all started to go downhill with CoD 2.

I dislike 4 and 5 because the multiplayer is to easy and there isn't much of a challenge. (although i'm sure there is some).

COD4, NO. COD 5, yes. COD4 and COD2 were the only good ones, at least in my opinion. Killzone 2 is better than COD4 though, if only because COD4 uses invisible markers so often. Enemies will just keep pouring after you until you get to a certain unmarked point. It's too linear. Killzone 2 only uses that 3 times, and it's well masked each time. Those moments almost ruined COD4 for me, almost, but not quite. It's such a good game that it can get away with it, but that doesn't mean that it isn't bad. So I voted no, COD 2 and COD 4 are great.

I think that you're the only person I ever met who thinks COD4 is shit. I loved COD4. It was by no means perfect but it was a great game.

I think that it's rated so highly is because people can play it (watch Yahtzee's explanation of 'Mainstream' in his Gears of War 2 review and you'll see what I mean) and alot of people I know have played COD and Halo and etc. and think that they're the dog's bollocks, but never played some true gems like Half-Life, Portal; or even a ridiculously fun frag-fest like UT3; they're stuck playing the same repetitive crap over and over again.

Although, despite this, I think COD4 (and only COD4!) and the Halo series are reat games, but I think they can be alot better.

what i meant was that everyone i hear talk about it says its really realistic, of course that argument goes up in flames when you consider the fact that you have regenerating health and cod5 brought in lasers and zombies

Get online - go to Steam and download Red Orchestra for like $20 one off fee.
You now have the best FPS around. Get yourself a mic, get online and learn some skills.

Red Orchestra is seriously the best FPS about. Do yourselves a favour - Get it, play it online and watch the team kills lady bugs! You will not regret it for a moment.

COD is retarded in comparison.

You know I hate This Fanboy shit topics and i think this one should be closed ASAP. The author admitted he is a HALO fanboy :p well its bloody obvious he wont like anything else that has you viewing the world from someone's eyes perspective and have a gun.

I also hate multiplayer so i think my opinion would be unbiased :D

I loved CoD series :D I finished 1, 2 and 4 couple of times and I really enjoyed it :p Especially 4 :D it was a first person masterpiece in terms of gameplay and story (except the ending with was messed up) No one can tell me that the nuke explosion didn't make you shocked or whatever other feelings you can get from a game. Or the mission in Chernobyl in the camouflage suit taking out two guys simultaneously or hiding in the grass from a platoon of soldiers. This game was never overrated :p

About HALO I played 2 at friends house and when I found myself trying to chase some small gremlin alien thing that was making weird sounds I wanted to slap him for showing me a game for twats that try to kill small weird creatures. later I played 3 at others friends and I thought is a really good game although the gremlins were there again and the twat feeling returned. Other than that it has nothing extra :p its a good fps :p the story was so so but i enjoyed the gameplay and had fun playing it.

I never understood why people even compare those games :p they are set in different times with different guns and different play mechanics. And also all you mulititwats its because people like you that games started to smell shit :p nowadays people dont care about the plot of a game or making a decent story in it because all you need now is a working multiplayer for people to go online :p I started gaming on an C64 and never even dreamed of playing with other people but i swear the games then had more depth than now :p

Well then for now accept that both are good and that CoD 4 has a better single player and that's all to say :p And remind yourself that games are really about the experience not the challenge.

Some entries in the series are, but the key iterations of 1, 2, and 4 were certainly worthy of their praise. Of course, given the number of entries that means that overall I feel the series is probably overrated but those entries were not produced by Infinity Ward.

I'm not a huge call of duty fan in general but COD4 had an amazing (albeit short) single player campaign. The set pieces are awesome and the constant barrage of noise and explosions is increadible. Really gets the blood going. Not to mention the few really clever bits, like the credit sequence, the airstrike section, the nuke section and the final showdown.

As the for the multiplayer. Me and my mates probably haven't gotten as much fun out of it as we did the halo games but it was cool and if you hate the airstrikes so much you can turn them off in the game options. You can also turn off the radar which makes the airstrikes harder to get and thus less of a problem.

I'd say you're more than a bit biased. Halo fanboys are(the scum of the earth) a different kind of gamer. They think in leaps and bounds whilst cod gamers think in adrenaline charged sprints. I'll admit the story in halo was excellent. And CE provided the first FPS gaming experience I can remember(and one of the fondest) but as far as multiplayer goes, COD is superior. *shudders as the horde of halo fanboys straps on their cardboard armor and charges*
