You didn't have to uninstall it, just delete all the .dll files and let it 'update' again.

I just generally don't like it. I liked the old steam better, then again could just be me sulking as an oldie who doesn't do stuff often anymore.

I quite like it although it doesn't seem to scale as comfortabley as i'd like. using 1360x768 resolution on all my machines

From what I've seen, it seems decent. However, I will be largely apathetic on the subject until Valve finally releases Linux support. Seriously, no love for us open-source geeks?

I have had no issues so far. I haven't bought any new games yet so maybe that will be a trap, but I didn't need to back up anything it just switched over on the update. I like that the information is more THERE than it was.

I've never had any problems with the new Steam. But if you're so worried about backing up your games why not just to into the program files copy to an external HD.

It's okay, but I've had problems- I tried the beta and had problems connecting, and it's happened again with the new version.

I also don't like the new store browser- I can't open in new tabs, and if i open a game's page then go back, I'm back to the first page of results.

And my game icons don't appear on shortcuts anymore.

I'm new to PC gaming and Steam so I haven't had much experience with the old version, but I haven't noticed any problems, and I do like the new UI.

I'm freaking loving it, the design is great, the revamped store is nice, and makes it easier to find the interesting offers they have every now and then =3, and I like the games list SO MUCH MORE.
Overall, I'm really happy with it.

I didn't have any problems with Steam ever before the update, and now almost every time I boot into my Windows drive Steam has trouble connecting and crashes every so often. I even tried reinstalling and it didn't help. While I like the look of it, I definitely prefer the old one where it worked just fine.

It's more user friendly, as everyone is saying.
Not that the older version wasn't, this versions format is just so pretty.

It seems to link things together more effectivley too, such as the 'other friends that play this game' feature. No more trawling through other peoples profiles!

Yes, it is bad but your poll was poorly worded. Is it 'yes' to 'the new Steam is bad' or 'yes, it is just you who thinks it's bad'.

I've been using the new look since beta, I love it. It's possible your computer just sucks.
