Let's face it, PC gaming is uncomfortable. Don't get me wrong, there are many games I prefer on the PC to consoles, but I feel as though the only reason I don't play for longer periods of time is because I can only stand to sit in a chair for a little while, especially at night. It's not like my chair is uncomfortable either, I would just rather lay in bed and play games. Is getting what is usually favored as the "better" gaming experience worth sacrificing our comfort?

...I wouldn't think laying down would be a standard enough console-playing exercise to be able to generalize, myself.

I don't know if I would consider it a sacrifice to sit in a computer chair. Maybe if I was morbidly obese and it became a strenuous exercise to remain seated upright.

Honestly, I'm uncomfortable trying to watch TV or even read when I'm lying down. It tweaks my neck and causes my eyes to strain. I prefer being seated. At least I can have a small snack, and drink some coffee while I game. As opposed to spilling it all over myself.

Its rude to assume you're lazy if you play consoles with a controller. I play games standing up sometimes on consoles.

It sounds more like you just need a better chair. Get a rolling computer room kinda chair like you see in offices. And besides, you could always get a controller to hook up to the computer through a USB port. Thats what I did when I PC gamed.

I lay down and play my PC all the time so this really makes no difference to me.

I was going to write about how you should get a proper chair. However, if you need to be in a horizontal position to enjoy gaming, then PC gaming is probably not for you.

There's no option for "I don't find it uncomfortable" because I don't, the only time I'm ever uncomfortable whilst gaming (Both console and Pc) is when my hands are cold.

this i can kind of relate too... i find im using my xbox control more and more with pc games that allow it simply because i can lay on my sofa and play the game instead of sitting on my pc chair, with my feet up on my tower lol mite have to invest in a long range wireless keyboard and mouse

Maybe it's the fact that my eyes get a little strenuous when I sit close to the monitor. I myself prefer to lay down, sitting in an upright position in my bed with a controller, a more comfortable distance away.

I'm not morbidly obese, nor do I have back problems. I just sit in a chair for most of the day all ready, and I'm just one of those people who doesn't like to be seated for too long. After a long day I'm usually sore and would rather lay in bed while I game.

Don't forget you can buy xbox 360 controllers for computers, so that really shouldn't be a problem.

Though microsoft like to be awkward so an xbox 360 controller meant for xbox 360s won't work on a computer and vice versa, even though they both use USB sockets.

I like only console gaming when im tired and can play with my eyes close and by that time the controller floats above my hands and plays the entire game for me.

Well... I don't find PC gaming uncomfortable... I have a nice chair (With some spare cusions on it) room under my desk for my legs, room to my left for my legs and things to place them on (A 3 foot high stack of unusable PC games...) and a sofa to my right to rest my legs on. I often PC game while lying down (Sometimes I have my legs on the backrest of the sofa so I'm lying down with my legs in the air)

Now console gaming? That's uncomfortable... Having to sit either upright on my sofa in a certain area to get the best view or knelt down infront of the TV (As close as I normally am to my monitor...) I can't lie down due to resting on my arm restricts movement and blood flow (So I can't play properly) or my neck starts to hurt because I cannot lean on my arm when lying down on the sofa (Wheras on my PC my neck is supported by the back of my chair/pillows behind my head)

My chair is significantly more comfortable than my couch. Try a different chair, perhaps?

Or if you want to stay in bed, why not get a gaming laptop. Plus that way you'll save on heating, 'cuz those things get hot enough to fry an egg on.

I use a wireless mouse and keyboard on my couch with my 52 inch tv playing Battlefield Bad Company two. Being forced to use a tiny controller is what I consider uncomfortable.
