There's no need for computer gaming to be uncomfortable, just get good chair(I've got a big comfy leather computer chair).
Ergonomic keyboard and mousepad are optional, and I for one take pride in the scar that's developed on my wrist from my cheap mousepad.

... My PC gaming setup is extremely comfortable.... Not super practical for serious gaming, but I could easily sleep in this chair, and seeing as the arm rest is my mouse pad (it works quite well, once you get used to it. Until you let go of the mouse, and it slides off of the arm rest, and your left wondering what direction your character is now facing), I can play for hours on end with no discomfort.

What? No! Lying down is painful and tiring; sitting is not.

I don't think your thread applies to me...

I don't even remember the last time I actually used my desk for gaming, I do it all from my bed. I'm in bed friggin' NOW. I played New Vegas twice through over christmas exclusively in my bed. If it's during uni term time and I'm posting, guess what. I'm in bed!

Fucking /thread.

I sit in my chair whenever I'm on my computer (which I got at Costco for $100 and is super comfy). When I play console games, I sit on a couch. Or lay down on it if I'm feeling lazy...

I setup my bed next to by desk so that I can put the keyboard in my lap, mouse to the side, and play while laying down. I do this mainly because I've had back surgery and sitting in college all day puts a strain on it.

What a loaded poll. I'm not going to answer it because there is no "PC gaming is perfectly comfortable" option.

ACtually, I have the same problem, with playing PC games being uncomfortable, it's because the chair I use is broken. I need a new one.

I could have stopped reading right there.
This is ENTIRELY, 100% subjective.
Just because you have a bad posture, poor ergonomics, shitty gear or whatever, it doesn't mean everyone else does.

Also, playing games while lying down is bad.
It'll fuck up your spine.

The entire pretense of the title bothers me. It presumes that PC gaming is a dis-comfortable experience. I find it far more comfortable than console gaming and I grew up on consoles.

Let's face it, PC gaming is uncomfortable. Don't get me wrong, there are many games I prefer on the PC to consoles, but I feel as though the only reason I don't play for longer periods of time is because I can only stand to sit in a chair for a little while, especially at night. It's not like my chair is uncomfortable either, I would just rather lay in bed and play games. Is getting what is usually favored as the "better" gaming experience worth sacrificing our comfort?
Then do what I do, I've set my PC up right next to my bed, I use a wireless mouse on my bed next to me and rest my keyboard on my stomach.

Admittedly it takes a litte getting used to, and it's a little less comfortable in the short term, but with this set up I can game/browse all day without having to worry about my back seizing up(damn 10 hour WC3 marathon).

Source please?
Why would gaming while lying down be worse than lying down on it's own?
I'm gonna have to call bull on that one.
