The law is obviously corruptible, because it is humans that define what law is. Look at Apertheid South Africa, where racial segregation was lawful, the law can be corrupted to make the immoral lawful. There are certain moral truisms that are felt fundamentally by humans but they are not laws per se...xxcloud417xx said:Simple question: is the law incorruptible? The answer might not be so simple. Give me your thoughts. Personally I say that the law will always remain pure and incorruptible since it's an idea created for the very purpose of protection, safety, order and equality. It's humanity that is corrupt and uses it to his means.
I think he's talking about the latter.george144 said:Humanity is corrupt, humanity created law, ergo law is corrupt. Also your a little vague on what you mean, are you talking about laws themselves, the police force that upholds the law, or simply some metaphorical essence of lawfulness?
And bingo was his name-o.Aac18 said:No, most laws are subject to interpretation (at least too some degree) so the option to corrupt their purpose is always there.
within your definition, you are right. but in reality, not really. the problem is, there has to be an entity that gives the law, as the only laws without people who invent them are laws like the laws of physics and such, which exist regardless of the existence of man or any living thing.xxcloud417xx said:Simple question: is the law incorruptible? see here now, its not the law thats corrupted, its people. The law is an objective concept we invented in order to govern populations en masse, however, certain individuals of said population feel it prudent to take advantage of a system they and many deemed flawed because they either are greedy, full of pride, or suffer from one of the other 7 cliche sins...concrete89 said:The law is corrupted.
Poor people have less rights than the rich.
For the right sum, goverments rewrite laws to fit the corporations.
A man with a badge can do unspeakable things and get away with it.
The same for a man with a good lawyer.
Nothing smart enough to talk is incorruptible.

the law in and of itself is nothing, simply a set of rules. a set of rules many of you seem to be in a hurry to deem as "flawed" or "corrupt"
as for your whole "nothing smart enough to talk..." bit, how do you know? have you met every one? psychologically profiled every living creature that "talks"? Im sure you will eventually find someone who fits your pathetic subjective view of "un-corruptable"
sincerely,
